The cottage was perfect for our group of six. The three kids slept unstairs. My daughter liked sitting in the hallway and reading at night to all of them. The bedrooms on the lower level were spacious and just right for the adults. Our favorite parts were the garden room and the great table for eating together and playing games. The location was perfect for our daily hikes in Treman, Buttermilk, Watkins Glen, Sapsucker Woods, and Taughannock Falls. It was great to find a cooler in the house (among many other amenities) for packing lunches for the day's outing, and we enjoyed our fire-pit night at the end of the week.It was so nice to get away from the heat in St. Louis and Birmingham, AL, to have bagels in Collegetown and to be near so much lovely water. We recommend the gift/t-shirt shop (Sunny Days) and Yellow Deli in the Ithaca Commons shopping area. The kids made t-shirts, each with a different waterfall on the back, and the owners of both places were friendly, helpful, and kind.I should add that I had some concern after reading other reviews about mustiness in the cottage. Two in our party have asthma, and we weren't sure how it would go, but there were no complaints. We spent most of our days out in the parks and lit candles during dinner for atmosphere and scent. The bottom line is that it was not a problem. The bird-watching from the Garden Room, cup of coffee at hand, was worth the trip!
