We have rented many VRBO houses over the years, and this home stands out as one of our favorites. The house is a lovingly restored Victorian beauty, dripping with charm and chock-a-block with antiques (including 2 grand pianos and a harpsichord). The gourmet kitchen is spacious and well-stocked and we enjoyed playing cards at the table while watching the Olympics on the computer. We used only 3 of the 6 available bedrooms, but they were all large and well-appointed, with very comfortable mattresses. As delightful, the house is set on 5 peaceful acres and has expansive lawns, a pond with a dock, a playhouse and treehouse. We especially loved sitting outside on the wraparound porch and on the shady back patio. The street is quiet and you can walk (about 1/2 mile) to the main street of Trumansburg, which has everything you need for your vacation, including surprisingly good eateries, a decent grocery store, drug store, etc. Within a short drive, you can hike the impressive gorge trails of 4 state parks, swim in Cayuga Lake, and visit the vineyards on the Cayuga and Seneca wine trails. We also enjoyed visiting the Corning Museum of Glass, which is about an hour drive. Added to all this, the owners are warm and welcoming, responsive, and accommodating. We would rent this property again in a heartbeat.
