This is a beautiful cabin. A top notch kitchen and one of the cleanest cabins we've ever stayed at on the chain. Host was terrific and we really enjoyed our week long stay. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this property. Authentic log cabin experience with all the extras! Plenty of room for everyone and well stocked with supplies. Enjoyed getting out on the water with provided kayaks and even caught a small mouth bass off the dock!

Couples getaway

I have rented VRBO’s about 3 times a year for over the last 10 years, and this has been the best overall experience we have had. From owner communication, lodging, location, and Northwoods experience it was fantastic. Will definitely look at this place again.

We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Great location in a cove on Island Lake. The kayaks and paddle boards were a huge plus, as was the sofa area on the deck. John was a super responsive host. Highly recommend next time you’re looking for a place in Manitowish!

Very clean. Excellent location. Home is remodeled and beautiful. Dock is wonderful with plenty of space to park your boat, with a sandy/gravel bottom excellent for swimming right off the dock. No power on dock/shoreline so bring 150’ of extension cord to charge your boat on dock. We enjoyed our time very much!

This was our 1st full family vacation since grandchildren. I can’t say enough about our host and about this property. John fielded each of my questions in a timely fashion. We had 8 adults and 2 young children and never felt cramped. We brought a truckload of stuff to keep ourselves busy in case the weather didn’t cooperate with our plans. This was entertaining unnecessary, the home was not only spotless it is abundantly furnished with games and puzzles. Each bedroom is furnished with comfortable beds and nice linens and each bathroom has more than enough towels. The kitchen is beyond well equipped for any gourmet cook and a big table that allowed us all to dine together. The pier has a good sized seating area to ensure your comfort as the kids are swimming and playing on the soft floating raft. Life vests and beach towels galore! Plenty to do and eat within a short distance. In summary we as a group gladly give this property an host as many stars as are available!

Very well appointed cabin. Kitchen hardware was great. Beds very comfortable and the dock great for three boats. Parking was abit tight if you have three trailers which seems to be the max. John was great with communication. If you are not app savvy the exterior lighting app will be a very patient process.

Peaceful and Relaxing Extended Family Getaway

We brought three generations together under one roof for a fun family getaway. This property had the space and amenities to keep everyone entertained and able to find a bit of solitude when needed. The house was spotless when we arrived and well stocked with everything we needed to have fun and cook for a crowd! The raft, paddleboards, kayaks and many board games helped the teenagers forget about phones! Communication with the owners ensured we were set for the trip and supported during our stay. We hope to be back!

Hi Kelly, We are very happy to hear that everyone in your multi-generational group had such a nice time. Our vision was always to provide amenities and space for guests of all ages. We also agree that the home is large enough to “escape to solitude.” You are always welcome back. You took such good care of our pontoon boat. We are focused on providing a clean environment, and you left our boat exactly the way I would have done! Hope to have you back again soon, John & Lorie

John was an outstanding host from start to finish. He was always quick to answer questions no matter how big or small. The cabin is gorgeous and CLEAN. I am very picky with cleanliness and I felt 100% at ease here. The fireplaces worked well to take the chill out of the basement and main floor. We are not used to using a heater but it was easy to figure out and worked well in the below zero temps. The washing machine available in the basement was a massive help to us. Other small touches like the sound machines in the bedrooms and games near the communal table were appreciated and used nightly. All of the kitchen utensils and cookware were great. We have a chef in our mix so travel with our own knives, but otherwise we were very much able to utilize everything supplied in the kitchen to cook meals. We will definitely come back!

John and Lorie’s cabin was perfect in every way for our family trip. We had 4 families for a total of 8 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and bed. The kitchen was great as well as a nice size table for everyone to sit. Our favorite part of their place was their dock. The seating area was great to lounge in while watching the kids play on the floating mat or paddling around on the paddle boards. Their dock is in a little bay too so there was no boat traffic at all which meant it was safe and private. The stairs to get down to the dock were a bit steep but made for a good daily workout:). The pre check in was process with John was one of the easiest ever. He sent a great pdf with information about their place prior to our arrival which was very helpful when being with a large group of people. I was able to share that with everyone so that we all knew what to do upon or arrival or how/where stuff was.

Perfect house for a multigenerational escape. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. The swimming raft, kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards were great for exploring the lake. We also enjoyed the nearby WinMan mountain bike trails. Greer's Marina was helpful and convenient for renting a boat on the chain.
