A great place!

Awesome house with plenty of room and just perfectly located. Clean and well kept with everything one would need. Many restaurants and shops within a mile and walkable. We would rent it again and recommend to friends and family.

Rice Graduation - Amazing stay!

Perfect for our family! Listing is as detailed. Home away from home. Plush towels, Kuerig machine awaits you. Plenty of room to mingle as adults or grab some alone time. Very close to fun restaurants and coffee shops. Highly recommend Empire cafe and Barcelona Bites. Whole Foods and CVS within walking distance. Parking was a breeze. The owners live above, but we never questioned our privacy. It was a wonderful trip. Highly recommend if you need family space and are here visiting RICE.

This was a great place to stay close to local family. It's on a quiet street and there was parking out front. CVS and Whole Foods close by. We liked that the bedrooms each had their own bathroom. We had a sunny day and sat out in the back yard. Nice to have the outdoor space.

Katy & Mehdi were so very nice & gave us great tips on places to eat!! Lots of places close by to walk to for groceries or necessities. Many nice restaurants in walking distance! Buffalo Bayou is such a beautiful park that's very relaxing, Galveston beach is only 45 min drive, downtown is only 10min! You are close enough to different things to do but separated enough from the hustle & bustle of everything. This area is very safe & the pictures are exactly like the inside! Very clean & comfortable!!! Thanks so much!

Cozy and Welcoming

This location by far has been our favorite. We have always used HomeAway for business and leisure travel. This trip was mostly business and it accommodated all our needs. The owners live upstairs which is great if you are in need of any recommendations on restaurants or popular local spots. If you have any questions or needs the owners are quick to respond and accommodate. There is not enough praise to be given here. Short drive to the heart of Houston and the George R. Brown. The neighborhood is colorful and full of great discoveries. This location is a no brainer.

Nice location, clean property, but …..

Place was nice and clean, good location, however, owners live upstairs and lots of noise starting early in the morning. People walking back and forth and waking us up. Beds were very uncomfortable- no real mattresses

Large apt in a perfect location in Houston

This our second stay in this apartment and would still highly recommend. First floor of a solidly built duplex in the older and more peaceful part of town. Yet everything is so close by…restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, museums, the downtown, and even places to walk, all inside the Loop. No drive was more than 20 minutes, incredible for Houston! Your hosts live quietly above you, but no need for their services this time. One suggestion for safety…a hand railing for the two steps up the walkway to the entrance would be very helpful, esp for us seniors. Altogether, a terrific place to stay for us!

Furniture was awful for us older folks. I always smoke outside but these hosts do not allow smoking of any kind anywhere on the property, regardless of inside or out or cigarette or vape. Great location though.

We highly value all guests. Our listing is a no-smoking listing. This is in the rules and acknowledged on booking. These guests asked 5 times to smoke despite these rules. I strongly advise against accepting this guest if you want to keep it smoke free, and do not desire being penalized for such rules.

Great Location

We had a lovely time. We appreciated that the unit was only 1 block away from whole foods. The kitchen was very useable, plenty of dishes. We found easy parking on the curb every evening and the neighborhood feels very safe. We walked several blocks down to the park at sunset to watch the bats fly out of the bridge, it is a lovely park during the day too. The unit is a very easy drive to all sites in Houston and the Space center. My only complaint is the bed. It was not comfortable. In the morning my poor old bones were sore.

Back Home in Houston

My husband and I return to Houston every year after retiring to the East Coast in 2003. The 2 bedroom 2 bath lower floor of this duplex was just perfect for our needs for 4 days....location within 20 min. of any place we wanted to go, nearby restaurants, shopping, museums, and never a need to be on Houston's congested highways 🙏 . The apt. is open and spare, incredibly well built in a quiet neighborhood. We never heard our hosts or their 2 sweet little ones above us. In fact, knowing that the owners were close by was such bonus, and when we needed some assistance, our host was right there to take care of us. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay "Inside the Loop". Hope the rental is available next year when we plan to return to our Second Favorite City!

Disappointing

We never actually stayed at the property. We booked the property while in Houston for a short stay to attend the Astros game. Booked on a Saturday afternoon. By Sunday morning, Hurricane Beryl took a turn towards Houston, so I messaged the owner explaining the situation. It had not even been 24 hours since we booked. Owners refused to refund us. After much messaging and weeks later we were only refunded the cleaning fee. Houston did not have power. Streets were flooded. Everyone else in our baseball group was refunded but us. Even the Astros refunded us. Don’t book unless you pay the hefty insurance because these owners will not refund you, even for a hurricane. I guess they expected me to stay and put my family in harm’s way. The interstate was even flooding on our way out! No thank you. Very disappointing.

So sorry for your loss. Kristine booked after the hurricane not before. Houston did not flood nor take a direct strike from Beryl. We had some power outages but our home wasn’t affected. We regularly refund for a variety of reasons. Kristine is a bully. She stated she wanted to go to the Westin. We don’t allow for travelers to “shop” our location after booking. Beware.

Perfect spot!

Had a great stay at this house for a mom/daughter trip. It's the perfect combination of being located on an extremely quiet street, yet literally steps away from a CVS and a beautiful Whole Foods store. Safe and friendly neighborhood. Hit the pub that's almost in your back yard (no worries, you can't hear it). Just past Whole Foods (again, you are WALKING to get there), you hit a HUGE trail system where you'd never guess you're in the 4th largest US city by population. Miles and miles and miles of trails. Ck out the Waugh drive bat bridge! The touristy stuff is not far away by car. Street parking at house is easy. The farthest we drove for anything was to the Space Center, which was about a 30 minute drive. Traffic can be awful depending on the time of day in Houston, so plan accordingly. We tried to travel during "off" times, so never sat in traffic. Everything else we did was at most a 20 minute drive, including the Hobby Airport, Holocaust Museum, Art Museum, Aquarium (personally would skip this, it's not that great unless you have little kids), Houston Galleria mall, Zoo, Natural Science Museum, and took in Hamilton at the Hobby Center. Most everything in the Museum district is 12 minutes away at most. Buy a CityPass and save some $ on admission! The house is well equipped for what a traveler needs. Very nice living space with the kitchen island and large dining area. Plenty of extra blankets. Others have commented on the beds and being a person who never sleeps well on vacation, I slept great. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was nice. We got to meet our host as we couldn't figure out how to get the heat/AC to work and didn't want to screw everything up, so sent a text. Immediate response, great guy. Others have commented about hearing the family upstairs while you are there. Yes, you will hear them walking around at normal people times....give some graces here, they are nice people! Only heads up I'd give is if you are really tall, this place isn't going to work great for you. Beds are on platform and pretty close to the ground. Couch also sits low. Microwave is in lower cabinetry by sink. With that beautiful shelving system/tile wall in the kitchen, all your cookware and supplies are obviously in the lower cabinets (wine/marg glasses are easy to grab tho - ha ha!). If you have to have a TV in your bedroom, you're out of luck, just one HUGE TV in the living room. Totally would stay here again!
