Very comfortable home for a family of 7 people. The water access was amazing and the water was so clean/clear. The kitchen was well size and well appointed for the trip. Plenty of places to spread out and do activities and many comfortable places to sit and relax. Easy access to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. We were able to see a family of loons many times from our deck.

Rainbow Lake boathouse was absolutely amazing. The view of the lake was wonderful and it was so cool to step out of the door and have the lake right in front of you. Love, the fact that we were at the end of the lake, where kayaking was fantastic! The first day we saw beavers, otters, loons,and an eagle. For our group, the water access was perfect. We also had our own boat with us that we were able to launch right next to the boathouse, and there was a place to tie it up to keep it dry. As for the fishing at Rainbow Lake can’t say enough good things about it. We had a blast!

This is our second time staying here and will continue to come back. The house is situated on a quiet cove and has a very easy put-in for paddlers. We spent many hours kayaking on the gorgeous lake and were often delighted by loon calls and sightings. We seldom encountered motor boats. The kitchen is very well supplied with everything you need for food prep. The large deck is literally on the water. Two of the upstairs bedrooms are roomy with walk-in closets and overlook the lake; the third is smaller but pleasant. The master bedroom on the first floor is very large with a full bath and walk-in closet. There is an additional full bath upstairs and a half- bath on the first floor. The hosts are great and always quickly responded to any questions we had. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a quiet getaway in a casual house.

Second time staying here and we love it. It was a bit chilly so the fireplace inside is always a nice touch. My brother caught a lot of fish enough to make a fish fry. Lots of loons singing and hanging out. Only thing i would say is that they charge extra for the kayaks that they have on the property

Great family home

We enjoyed 5 days on the lake with our kids and dogs. The house is on the lake and the dogs swam endlessly. We brought paddle boards and enjoyed the calm cove and quiet lake to paddle on. There was a nice trail close by to walk the dogs on. The house had everything we needed.

We had a fabulous time - the location was incredible for kayaking - the house was comfortable and large enough for everyone to spread out and have their own space as well as areas to gather for group games /activities- the lake was peaceful and everyone caught fish - even used the fire pit a few times. Thank you for the use of your home

Great lakeside stay!

Great spot on the lake and fantastic views from the bedrooms! Clean, well equipped cabin. Surprised to learn (thankfully in advance) that towels were not provided, although it seems this is common practice in this area. Easy communication with owner. Conveniently located just off the main road while still private.

Family Vacation

The house is the perfect size for our family. Everyone had plenty of room to gather and get private space for quiet and nap times. When we got stuck in the driveway (snow happens) someone was there very quickly to plow and sand to make sure we could get out.

Perfect getaway

My family had an amazing time! The boys caught alot of fish including a northern pike! We kayaked the beautiful lake (there is one kayak there) and we brought ours as well. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. The lake was very quiet not many big boats maybe one or two a day. We met the next door neighbor who are very sweet and friendly. We will for sure want to come back not only because of how peaceful and great it was but we had a proposal here as well!

Very nice property on the water

We enjoyed our stay at the property, especially the proximity to the water and the quiet! Everything in the house worked and the condition was as advertised. The main drawback to our booking was the fees added . Cleaning fees, homeaway fees, mandatory insurance etc. I dont mind paying for a nice house on the water, but I felt gouged after all the fees add up.

Family Reunion

Overall, the boat house was lovely and on the water was a plus. The outside property was well maintained. I would have liked to have a different coffee maker as the one provided was confusing and took some learning. I would also have liked elimination of fleas on the bottom of the sliding door. Finally, I would have preferred to have kayaks provided rather than having to spend hundreds of dollars more to have them provided and delivered.

Waters Edge

We stayed for two weeks and had up and down weather. A lot of rain fell over our two weeks. Never a day that was a complete wash out but close to it. The lake was beautiful and we had fun kayaking. The furniture in the living area is not very comfortable and with the rain we had to stay indoors more than we would have liked. Also doing laundry was a bit of a challenge with the stipulations. Just took longer. All in all we would stay here again.

Location great but needs a serious update

The lakeside location is gorgeous. The house is literally on the water. But the owners have obviously not renovated in decades. One bed smelled so badly of mold we couldn’t use it and all of the linens and blankets were ratty and worn out. They didn’t seem clean. Also the price was not cheap and they didn’t supply enough toilet paper, gave us one garbage bag for a 3 night stay and no towels. This place could be great if someone put some money into it.

Beautiful waterfront. HUGE firepit. Perfect little beach to launch kayaks. Peaceful. The back deck was my favorite place to sit with a glass of wine. Very well appointed kitchen. They had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Perfect location!

Great spot to enjoy the ADK's from! Despite hitting a rainy week, we were out hiking and kayaking every day, sometimes for most of the day. It is particularly nice to be able to kayak right from your house to "the outback" - that is places without motorboats, houses, etc. Spacious place with big kitchen with table and lots of spots to settle down in a comfortable spot with views of the lake. Very comfortable bed, too :).

Even better than expected

What a gem! The pictures really don't do it justice, Right on the water, easy access for launching kayaks, canoes or just going for a swim. The beds are so comfortable and loved the ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom. We had 8 adults and stayed for a wonderful week. Weather was good every day except 1 but Lake Placid is only 30 minutes so it's easy to escape a rainy day. Loved hearing and seeing the loons every day, so many loons!! Overall great place. Highly recomended, just wish it was a shorter drive for us!

Great Location

Great location for our New Year's trip. The house was spacious and perfect for our group of 6. The location was close to winter activities so we will going back again. Perfect location for a warm weather trip also especially if you have a kayak, canoe or boat.

Thanksgiving

This home could not be closer to the lake. We had a lovely thanksgiving. The unexpected snowstorm was magical and made the beautiful fireplace shine even brighter. Our small children adored the three twin bed room. I would love to see this property in the summer!

Spring trip

The house was a perfect size and right on the lake! The kids loved exploring and it wasn’t to far from lake placid ! Beds could have been softer, but other then that it was a wonderful relaxing trip! True cabin on the lake feeling!!!

Beautiful house on the lake

We enjoyed our vacation in this spacious house. Views of the lake are beautiful- location is perfect if you want to be away from crowded places but still close enough to Lake Placid. Kitchen has everything you will need.
