Serenity House is a beautiful home in Lala Land with a peaceful zen-like feel. It sits on a rare, flat, fenced acre lot. Upstairs there is one large bedroom with a king bed, twin bunks, screened porch, and full bathroom. Downstairs there is a large equipped kitchen, large screened porch for dining, half bath, and living room with a full sized murphy bed. Additionally, there is a full sized futon downstairs and one queen sized blow up mattresses in the upstairs closet, if needed.
Serenity House is in hiking distance of the eclectic village of Coral Bay and its wonderful restaurants and shops. Nature and Wildlife abound.
World Class Diving and Snorkeling in Americas Last Healthy Coral Reefs are just minutes away. The Renowned white sandy beaches, like Trunk Bay, are a short drive on North Shore Road. 2 Paddle boards are included at Serenity House.

Serenity House in Lala Land was a great spot for a girls trip. The home matched the listing photos and was very clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with pans, dishes, silverware, and other kitchen items. Amelia was very responsive and helpful. House was an easy drive to many restaurants, market, and the ocean. Would definitely stay here again and recommend the home to others!

We had an amazing time on St. John, and enjoyed our stay in the house. The only minor inconveniences were the drive to the house(not your fault) and that there was no A/C. Overall it was great and we would come back again.

Wonderful get away!

Thanks once again for a great, trouble free stay. The owners were attentive and responded within 1/2 hour of a text question. The house was spacious and comfortable. We especially love the screened porch and open concept main floor.

Perfect for seasoned travelers.

Serenity House is a lovely gem tucked into a quiet, rocky part of the island. The owners are friendly and responsive, and when we had a small problem with a door, they sent a maintenance man within the hour. A little inaccessible, so if you are a newbie to St. John, you might find it difficult to get to, but for those who have been here before, it’s perfect.

Quiet location in the best part of the island

This clean and quiet get away was a great place to enjoy a week on St John. It Is only a few minutes from Coral Bay, which is a quiet little town but has several great restaurants with live music and delicious food. The house was a comfy place to touch down in the evenings after our days of adventuring. You will definitely want a rental car, but that is the way to go when visiting STJ regardless. The owner was super communicative and helpful. We will definitely consider again for future visits!

Roomy 2 story house, privacy from neighbors. It was very reasonably priced for the space that we had. The host was easily accessible and responsive. Easy to park in the driveway. The house is quite adequate for two couples except for sharing only one shower. There is an outside cold shower available. Any kids on the trip would be sharing rooms with adults. The owner responds quickly to any questions you might have. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils for cooking but did lack any kind of spices with the exception of salt & pepper. One of the gas stove burners did not light well, and don't try to use the stove with the kitchen ceiling fans on. AC is not needed as there are an abundance of fans. The paddle boards are missing fins, so they are pretty useless in any water except flat calm. The decks, screened & unscreened are large and a great place to spend time while at the house. Beach chairs are basic and adequate, but there were several broken ones. A jeep is recommended to reach the house as it involves 0.7 miles of dirt road with frequent potholes (a slow drive). Overall this house is nothing fancy, but completely adequate and very economically priced. I would return.

We had a great stay at Serenity House. The place has everything you need and worked well for us and our grown daughter and her partner. We've been to St John many times over last 25 or so years and this rental was both comfy and economical (by current St John standards 🤑). Can recommend without reservation 👍👍

Lovely property with pure, clean water!

My family (2 adults, 2 young teens) enjoyed this beautiful, clean house. Do not underestimate the value of that pure water filter! We filled up our bottles for hiking and beach trips daily. It was also environmentally and cost friendly, as the value of those water bottles from the local market adds up, plus you don’t have to lug them there. It was very comfortable with the multiple fans running and breeze. Lots of wildlife to see. There was a hose outside to help wash off excess sand so it doesn’t get tracked into the house or car. Good kitchen for bringing your own food to cook, we cooked 2 meals a day, it was well-supplied! Be advised that a Jeep will be needed to access the property. Good directions provided and very responsive owners!

Wonders stay

We had a wonderful trip in St. John. The location of the house is at coral bay, which is very convenient to go to either north shores or south beaches. There are several grocery stores and restaurants nearby. You don’t need A/C at home because the breeze will be cool enough. We even don’t need to use fan during our stay. Amelia is very kind, warm, honest and quick in response. She checked in with us the first few days to make sure everything was ok. If you text her, she would reply or call back in a minute. Beach chairs, towels and floating noodles are all prepared by the host. The house also have some games for kids so my son didn’t feel bored.

An aptly named house and lovely place to stay!

Really cherished our stay at this house. The east side of St. John is quite lovely, a little more quiet and local feeling than the west side of the island. It has the feeling of being remote, but is still very easy to get to and there is plenty of local food and bar businesses nearby, notably a convenient little grocery market called "Love City Market" just two minutes from the house. This house is in the perfect location to hit pristine beaches, prime snorkel spots and beautiful translucent bays, many within a scenic 10-20 minute drive or less from the house. The house has a lovely vibe that lends itself to connecting with the surrounding ambience and nature. The screened in, naturally-lit sunroom porches are perfect for family dinners, a cup of coffee in the morning while plotting an adventure for the day, or a game of rummy after a long day of sun and swimming. We found the kitchen to be exceptionally beautiful and ergonomic. It was really nice to hang on the bar stools around the central island in the kitchen and have a cocktail while one of us began to cook dinner. The house feels very open and breathable with ceiling fans placed conveniently throughout the house, but also feels cozy and relaxing with tasteful, warm lighting. A great place to regroup and relax while adventuring around St. John. We were also happy to find many books available at the house on the local botany and marine biology you can spot on the island. As a marine-bio and plant enthusiast, I really appreciated being able to have resources to inform my understanding of the wonderful, rare, and truly special ecology that thrives in and around St. John. We even found a pretty tree frog on the porch that came to hang out each night! Amelia and Steve were very responsive and always kind and helpful in the booking process. I hope to return again in the future; one week went by way too fast!

We found serenity

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Serenity House in first half of March. This is a great location as a base for exploring the island. North shore beaches are 15-20 minutes drive away, Salt Pond and East end 10-15 min. The house is lovely and well maintained, with a nice view of the lower half of the valley above Coral Bay, nice private porches with island breezes. We really appreciated the many little extras in the house like beach chairs, towels, sun block, fish and bird books, Scrabble game. There is 1 bedroom upstairs and a family room downstairs with 2 futons. Upstairs room has a bunk bed as well as a king bed, so younger children could stay upstairs with parents. Older kids would probably stay downstairs, as our adult son did during 1 week of the stay. Separate bathroom downstairs, but shower only available upstairs. A jeep is required to navigate the bumpy dirt road up from Coral Bay. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

This is our second year staying here. We have not been disappointed either Year and are planning to book again for a third year. The home is quaint and simple in design. We like the large table in the screened in porch for card playing. We cook our meals and everything we need is provided. its tastefully done for a small place. The tile work is lovely. Our friends who visited us were quite surprised by how nice the home was and is. For the price, it's a perfect fit for our family. We look forward to many more years of renting from Amelia.

We stayed at Serenity House in Feb. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable, with lots of lights and ceiling fans. We found a fully equipped kitchen, which was a delight being away from home. Beach chairs and towels were available as well as a great book collection (to identify what we saw snorkeling or hiking) as well as games. There was also an outside hose to clean snorkeling masks. It was great advice to arrive in the daylight and once we were used to the roads it was easy to find. It was also fun to have the Love City mini market close by. The screened in porches got the morning sun and our hosts even thought about leaving solar lucy lights for night time. Over all we had a wonderful time on St. John and loved having Serenity House as our base to relax, eat and sleep each day after exploring the island. We highly recommend Serenity House and would give it more than 5 stars if we could, we will return as soon as we can.

Serenity House was just the right place for us! The house is spacious and airy with multiple ceiling fans in each room. It is a well kept, clean and peaceful place. The large screened in porches were a perfect place to relax or play games or have coffee and watch the sun come up. Although it's a small thing it did not go unnoticed that they provided plenty of very large, very soft towels for everyone. Thank you for a wonderful vacation get away. Great home, well designed for air flow was never hot, wonderfull cieling fan layout. Nice attached screened in porch keeps house airy and a wonderful outside feeling even in the rain The tap water it better then bottled and all we drank Bedroom is wonderful open and airy never hot or stuffy No bugs Neighbors nice folks helpful and quite feel completely safe here we didn't lock the car or house ever Very quite and peaceful the back yard is big enough that you don't feel like you buried in the jungle Back deck nice and sunny during the day I enjoyed nights and early mornings sitting out side no bugs Very close to coral bay which is back in good shape after hurricane both love city market and dolphins market are well stocked between the two you can purchase all the groceries you need. There are serveral reastraunts and places to get a drink here so no pressing need to go to Cruz bay Owners were great to deal with straight forward, reasonable, and honest Houses are like shoes one size and style does not fit all if you are looking for a clean comfortable quite simple easy living space to just relax and enjoy look no further Enjoy

Serenity House is an easy home to live in. St. John offers many steep properties, and few flat properties. Serenity House is flat, and easily accessible without 4-wheel drive.
The absolutely best water filtration system is installed at Serenity House. Since all of the water comes from the rain, the water is the most pure you will ever get. Drink from the faucet and fill your water bottles!!
Please enjoy the two paddle boards we offer. Make arrangements with your car rental company for a car rack and straps, and use the paddle boards to explore!
