Clearwater Hideaway Modern 4BR Home w/ Heated Pool, Next to Clearwater Beach

Good evening team, I would like to once again, reiterate, my utter disappointment in the one star review that I received from (Reservation ID HA-8MN043). They checked out of my place the morning of February 23rd, and decided to leave me a one star review on the evening March 9th (today). They claimed in their review: “”He wanted to buy us pizza b/c the pool was not heated plus the place was dirty. There was a broken down van in the driveway, a filthy, greasy sheet in the oven. Please let me send you the pictures I took Also, it was no where near the beach.”” Firstly, to address a lot of the things that she said in the review, which are absolutely not true and attached, you will see photos and conversations that prove that. I have attached pictures with the dates on them(in my email to VRBO), from the cleaner Crystal Mai, that sent them to me, JUST a couple HOURS BFOREEE this guest arrived to the property on February 19th, 2026. I have also attached the pictures that the guest sent to me that were of concern to her. One of them was a scuff on the wall, that was literally done from the previous guest that checked out two nights before. This is not dirty, rather a scuff on the wall that wouldn’t come out, done by the handle of a scooter that a previous guest took inside the house. As for the pool not being heated, I called the guest right away when I seen her message to explain to her that to turn on the pool heater costs $65 per day and that I need to have a two day advance notice to turn it on before the guest arrives if they want it on. It clearly states that on the platform and it is not my problem that she missed it. Nonetheless I was courteous enough to turn it on for her for free for three nights in a row. $65 x 3 =$195.00 (that I never charged her as a courtesy). In addition to, when I was speaking to her son-in-law on the phone the day after they arrived on February 20, I was FaceTiming him to show him how to turn on the pool heater since it’s something that my property manager/cleaner typically does. While I was doing so, she complained in the backround staying at the home was not clean. I was caught by surprise as I have proof that the home was very clean and a live video walk-through before the cleaner left that day. The only thing that was not clean, which was what I apologized for and in addition to, resulted in a coaching opportunity to the cleaner…….was the tray that she forgot to clean in the oven. This is when I offered them another courtesy to have Pizza delivered to the Home on me. After that, the conversation went smooth and the guest seemed much happier. This is why I was caught by surprised when I read her comment. At the end of the day, we all make mistakes and my Cleaning lady was dealing with her daughter that got in a major car accident in the midst of all of this (I also showed a screenshot of our conversation between me and the Cleaning lady on the days prior to prove this). Another picture she sent shows stain on the door in which the cleaner tried to get out, but it would not get out with certain chemicals and it is just something that we would need to have to paint over. It’s not fair for this guest to claim that the home was dirty due to a scuff on the wall, a forgotten tray in the oven, and a stain on the main door. Then she claims that the beach is not near the house. That is absolutely ridiculous. I have had hundreds of guest book my place because it’s close proximity to the beach. And most of my reviews say what a great distance it is. It is not my problem that she did not do her due diligence and read the description properly. Maybe she was assuming that the beach was walking distance and which was never stated anywhere in the description. In addition to, she commented saying that there was a white van in the driveway that was broken down. That is actually my white van and I keep it parked there for my family and I when we come to visit our vacation home, we have a vehicle to drive. It is not broken down whatsoever, and it’s in perfect condition. I take much pride in my reviews and the cleanliness of my home, which drives a success of my short rental business across three different platforms. So for her to give me a one star review and make such claims is disproportionate, unethical, uncourteous, and out to sabotage someone’s livelihood. I therefore request that this review is removed immediately as it is not only hurting my ratings, but hurting potential guests from booking on your platform. When you’re out to look for something you’ll always find it or make it appear. Ridiculous.
