New Baby and Grandparents Get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! Our parents accompanied us, and our new 6 month-old baby, and our corgi, to Steamboat for a family get-away. The condo was clean and in great condition. The kitchen had all tools needed to cook meals. Although the condo is not air conditioned, it stays comfortable even in the heat of August thanks so the provided fans. At night, this was not a problem at all, as it cooled down considerably (highs in 80's by day, lows in 40's by night). I loved the location. It was close enough to downtown that I was able to walk everywhere that I wanted to go to (the hot spring, a spa on the yampa, the rodeo, and my favorite steakhouse). The views were fantastic. I enjoyed the view of mountains and downtown every pleasantly chilly morning on the deck, with a hot cup of coffee. Finally, we loved that this was a pet friendly condo. We love bringing our "fur baby" with us everywhere. Even as a pet friendly condo, it was incredibly clean and minimal wear.

Everything you could ask for

  • 4 of 5

We are happy to recommend Little Moon. We enjoyed our week's stay in the summer. It is a great house located very conveniently (5 minutes) between downtown and everything one could need; grocery pharmacy, restaurants, fast food etc. You will need a car.

The house is modern, neat, clean, airy, with a great view downtown. The kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed. The house is nicely furnished and very comfortable. The two car garage underneath would be very handy in winter. We enjoyed complete privacy in a pleasant family neighborhood.

Part of the week there were six of our family staying and every one (age 6 to 75) was comfortably accommodated. The Xfinity cable TV and wifi were reliable. Everything was in good working order. There was a welcome collection of games, puzzles, books.

Joel (iTrip Vacations of Steamboat) was excellent to work with. He responded quickly to emails and was always pleasant and helpful. One of the nicest guys I never met!

Be sure to grab a Steamboat Connections Coupon Book upon arrival. Everything you'll be interested in has a discount coupon in that publication. There is lots to do in Steamboat in the summer.

This house was amazing. Beautiful and stocked with everything needed plus some! We especially enjoyed all the books to read and games for the kids! The views were gorgeous. Two decks to sit outside. Had a few questions and Jason's response was immediate. Jason went out of his way to make sure our trip was perfect. Would highly recommend.

Great for family!

  • 5 of 5

A great condo for the family.

Pros: Location, garage, area for pets to go out, huge island and dining room table, kids activities (puzzles, games, books), super fast wi-fi, cable with ginormous tv, large closets, laundry, quiet neighborhood.

We comfortably slept a family of 5 and easily could have had a couple more.

Laundry is on the first floor so there is a lot of stair climbing. It would also be helpful to have drawers/dressers in the upstairs bedrooms. We couldn't fit our van in the garage because it was too tall (with a pod on top). We could easily park in front of the garage but there isn't a lot of room for guest cars.

Would certainly come back again.

Little Moon

  • 5 of 5

Great experience for our first vacation rental. Excellent view from house. Property was stocked with everything needed, it left us wanting nothing. Prime location, just a 5-10 min drive to town or Steamboat ski resort. We will definitely be looking to come back next year.

Book a Steamboat Springs vacation rental, and plan your Colorado mountain adventure!

Immerse yourself in the American Wild West as this ski town features western culture, year-round outdoor recreation, friendly locals and one-of-a-kind experiences only found in Steamboat Springs.

Originally started as a Colorado summer resort destination, Steamboat Springs has become renowned for its world-class skiing and mountain biking options, including more than 150 natural springs, lakes, rivers and trails to explore. And your Steamboat Springs vacation rental will put your family in the middle of it all.

Suit up for fun winter activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, biking, sledding, ice climbing and fishing, to name a few. The city houses two ski areas – the Steamboat Springs Ski Area and Howelsen Hill, Colorado's oldest continuously operated ski area. Or you can simply play in the smooth, dry snow, referred to as Champagne Powder, for which Steamboat is known. Another top winter activity is the Winter Driving School, the only purpose-built, terrain-based school of its kind in the U.S.

Mountain biking is huge in Steamboat Springs. In fact, it's a culture. Known as Bike Town USA, the city has trails and rides for all ages and skill levels. Hundreds of miles of single track are available, as well as more than 50 miles of downhill and freeride bike terrain. The family-friendly Bear River Bike Park offers jumps for all riders, providing families a place to enjoy a friendly competition. Guests can also try snow biking, a sport that allows riders to rent fat-tire bikes and ride through the snowy wilderness.

In the warmer months, venture from your Steamboat vacation rental and experience the Rockies as never before. From aircraft tours and golf to rodeos, horseback riding, and ziplining, Steamboat Springs offers tons of summer outdoor adventure. Wind down the 2,400-foot Howler Alpine Slide and hop on the popular Nordic Screamer, where guests ride a sled down two carpet slides. Other signature things to do in Steamboat Springs include the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, July Fourth Cowboys' Roundup Days, the All Arts Festival and Wild West Air Festival, hosted during Labor Day weekend.

Water babies must experience Steamboat Springs' wet-and-wild side. Steamboat Springs houses two hot springs that draw travelers from all over. At Old Town Hot Springs families will find water slides, rock climbing walls, and pools, perfect for relaxing or splashing. Those looking for a more remote hot springs should visit Strawberry Park Hot Springs, which is nestled in an aspen mountain grove. At Strawberry Park, families may choose from several hot springs with varying temperatures while admiring the beauty of the Yampa Valley.

Steamboat Lake and Stagecoach State Park provide top spots for canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The Yampa River is another great spot for relaxing on the waters and also serves as a top place for fly fishing and tubing, which has become one of the must-do summer activities in Steamboat. For whitewater adventures, head to the Elk and Colorado rivers, both prime spots for boating and rafting.

Hikers can test their skills at Fish Creek Falls, Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area, Emerald Mountain and a dozen more hiking destinations. The Yampa Core Trail offers an easier trek via its paved trail. The trail measures 7 miles and winds through the town along the Yampa River bank. Visitors can bike or walk, see incredible views, as well as have easy access to top attractions.

Steamboat also has a diverse arts and culture scene. With a rich history in the American West, the city celebrates its roots though art, performances, music, events and museums. Music fans can plan their Colorado vacation around the opera, strings music festival, free summer concert series and mountain music series. In the heart of Steamboat Springs, you'll find Main Street, full of shops, galleries, restaurants and spas. More than 100 restaurants in Steamboat cater to all cravings, and make sure to dedicate some time to find that perfect Colorado mountain gift or souvenir.

Downtown Steamboat Springs houses Howelsen Hill, the largest publicly owned recreational complex and oldest ski complex in Colorado. The center features a rodeo arena, Olympic-size skating rink, alpine slide and more.

Additionally, cowboys and cowgirls will feel at home in Steamboat. The city's foundation thrives on working ranches that showcase culture through special events such as Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series, Cowboy Downhill, cattle drives and ranch tours.
