Cool little B&B in the middle of Va wine country. Olga (the owner?) is super friendly and the house is fully stocked. We’ll be back soon.
The best place to tour and relax
Ms.olga is the best.
Not what we were expecting
Overall the experience was very pleasant. My cousin and I were going up to see West Virginia and this Bed and Breakfast was close enough to the boarder to see everything we wanted. We originally chose it for the reviews and photos.
On the Friday we were supposed to come up Olga informed us she had a previous engagement and requested us to get there a little earlier than we planned. We both work during the week days and our vacation time is very precious to us. On the website the check in says until 8pm, and we were planning to be there no later than 7:30. Olga had to leave before 6pm.
She did inform us that her manager, Kent, would be there but we had to try our hardest to get there before 7pm because he had to leave. No pressure. So we book it on down the road.We made it a few minutes passed 7 and the door was locked. We rang the doorbell and Kent answered. Showing us which room was ours for the weekend. There was no check in desk, directions to nearby places, notice of check in/out times, when breakfast was, nor a tour of the place. We finally got the key and settled in, not knowing where anything was in the house.
There wasn't real direction as to where we should park either. There was about 4 cars in the circle in front of the building and a few in a lot next to the garage. I would have liked direction as to where to park even if it was a "park anywhere along the gravel, just don't block anyone in"
Also, towels and wash clothes as well as soaps and shampoos were scarce. We were given a towel and washcloth for each of us for the 2 night stay, so I had to go find Olga Saturday to ask for extra
Some other reviews stated they were asked what they wanted for breakfast, we were not. I am not a super fan of omelets, which we were offered Saturday morning. Breakfast was served on Olga's time so there wasn't a set time of when that would be. Saturday morning(8am) we helped ourselves to coffee and waited around for an hour for her to wake up to let us know what was for breakfast.
I was disappointed that Olga didn't ask if we had everything we needed or if the room was okay. We only saw her for breakfast. Despite the negatives the building was beautiful and well maintained.
Great location and super nice prople
Olga is a wonderful person and could not have enjoyed myself more. I will be returning.
Great price for a beautiful place!
The breakfast was amazing and it felt like we were at home. So much space to choose where to eat breakfast or just hang out! Beautiful, quiet location away from the road. We loved free wifi and coupon book with maps of wineries around. I would have loved to have another mirror in the room so two people can get ready at the same time in the morning. Also TV only works if a limited number of people are watching it in the building. Thanks!
Oh my goodness where do I begin. Olga is just the sweetest and her place is beyond amazing! My husband and I came to Virginia from Michigan for a friend's wedding. We went back and forth between hotel and b&b and I'm so happy we chose this option. As explained, this b&b is set off from all the city noise in a beautiful country setting, right next to a winery! It is less then 15 mins from downtown Leesburg where there is lots of shopping and great restaurants. Olga's b&b is very clean with many rooms and porches to enjoy. She makes an amazing fresh breakfast each morning and we felt very much at home during our stay. Thank you Olga for a wonderful stay!
The best way to be directed to my place is GPS. If you use other means, just get to the Route 9 whichever direction you will be coming from. I am a half mile off Route 9 on Old Wheatland Road. Once you turn into Old Wheatland Road from Route 9, watch for the first 90-degree turn (about 300 feet), where you will see 4 mail boxes on the poles. That's the place where you need to make an immediate turn to the left to enter the access road to the B&B. Do not miss that turn! Off the short hill you will see a white big house on the right. It is your destination: Loudoun Valley Manor B&B.
