Here are some things to note:

This property is on an industrial/business park style road, not a neighborhood. We are near warehouses, logistic companies office parks etc. This won't affect your use of the house in any way but we mention it so you know what to expect visually when pulling up.

This listing is in a transitional neighborhood in North Charleston. If you've never been to our city, or if you've never been to a place that is racially and economically diverse, you probably won't like it and we would suggest booking elsewhere.

If you have any specific questions about the area just ask! My family has lived and worked in North Charleston for 100 years and we are glad to guide you.

Note on Bugs: We have the house professionally maintained, but depending on the season you may see a bug. This is not an indication of the house not being clean, but a reality of living in the south :) If you see a bug, let us know and we will handle it swiftly.

Pool + Gym: We have a relationship with a country club through which guests can book day passes. The club is 6 minutes away from the house. The admission to the club is NOT included in the booking price, bookings must be made in advance, and additional rules may apply.

Very clean, nice house. It is in an industrial area, but we had no issues. The host was great to deal with. We traveled with our dog and he enjoyed it as well

The place is kindly squeezed in a small strip of road in an industrial neighborhood, just as advertised. We heard trains and airplanes from time to time but not enough to interrupt any part of your stay. There were a few bigger vehicles that drove by the house per day but not enough to be a nuisance. Again, it’s in an industrial neighborhood. Loved the fenced in yard for our dog that enjoys non-leash activities. We brought our own pet towels and bowls but there were plenty kindly supplied. We ran out of kitchen trash bags and the host had some door dashed to the house before we got back from our day adventure. Kitchen had plenty of utensils and appliances to make breakfast and toast. Refrigerator worked well, loved having the ice and water in the door just like home. Grill outside, but we didn’t use it. Washer and dryer worked well and there were supplies for laundry and cleaning accessible. Beds and pillows were comfort as well. We Doordashed a lunch and a breakfast to the house and had no problem getting our food. Would recommend for a quiet stay away from the main hustle and bustle of downtown if you don’t mind a 15-30 minute drive to most tourist spots/public beach.

The place is very comfortable with lotsOf amenities. Loved our stay! There is a smell we think from behind the washer and dryer. You might want to look into this. We will book the house in the future

This cottage sized property backs up to a quiet neighbor’s in a sort of industrialized area. We enjoyed the home and small fenced in yard, and so did our dog. We walked him around the block every day, and rarely encountered anyone. We saw a few friendly neighbors tending their yards and flowers. There are two bedrooms and bathrooms, but no dressers for clothes. The closet and the bed in the 2nd bedroom worked for us to store our clothes. The kitchen and living area were great and included everything we needed, clean and in excellent working order. We made breakfast and other meals and appreciated all of the kitchen items. We grilled steaks on the charcoal grill on the deck. The host was responsive and helpful to any questions. The property is just down the street from a nicely maintained warehouse, and also near a UPS facility, so there is a little traffic from those at specific times of day. There are no restaurants we visited in the area (not sure if there were any), but we were able to easily drive to shopping and dining within 20 minutes. There is a Dollar General several automotive repair businesses on the main road.

This property was perfect! Beautifully decorated and clean. It was close to a huge park and area with lots of restaurants. Joseph was amazing and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for family of 4

Joseph is a great host with amazing communications. The house is cute and just right for 4. It’s an odd industrial neighborhood which we were forewarned about but don’t let the neighborhood dissuade you. Very confortable and well stocked. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed staying at The Rylie in North Charleston. It was large enough for our family of four and two dogs. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The AC worked well on those extremely hot southern days and we appreciated the fenced back yard for the pups.The location is truly close to downtown and other areas so we weren't in the car too long. We didn't have any issues being next to an industrial area but we all quickly realized that we needed to be extra alert, especially at night, for jay walking folks crossing the dual carriageway road. Just slow down and be aware. The backyard has a privacy fence around most of the perimeter, except for the southern side bordering an overgrown lot, which has a chain-link fence. The lot next door has a house being built, but the workers waited until after 8 am on Monday to begin work.Communication with the host was not an issue. We did inquire about the gym/pool a few days prior to our booking but the check-in reply didn't address our question and it took a few days until we were given the third party information. If you're interested in the gym/pool, request the info a couple of weeks in advance. Feedback: By the end of our stay, we would have appreciated more trash bags, more than one kitchen towel, a clean and usable grill and shower curtains without mold. Check out was very easy. Thank you!Overall, we were satisfied and we did not have any issues that affected our stay.

Thanks for the stay and that is a cute cute dog. Just a note: we have plenty of towels and trash bags, they are in the owner closet. We have also recently stopped advertising that gym because their day rates are outrageous and we don’t want to support that

Accommodations galore

My wife and I couldn’t have had a better stay at the Riley. Joseph was communicative from the day we booked our stay and offered assistance numerous times, even though we didn’t need anything because so much was provided. Check in was easy, WiFi had no issues, and snacks and small toiletries were provided. We have 2 dogs over 50 lbs and it is extremely difficult to find a place to stay that allows more than one pet, or pets over 50 lbs. They had a fenced in yard, provided dog bowls, and rags to wipe their feet. Simply couldn’t have been a better experience- I’d give 10 stars if I could! (There were also lots of games, books, and accommodations for children. You can tell the host does everything they can to be all inclusive).
