Gracious, spacious vintage home in a terrific neighborhood near the lake
A house with real character and color. Filled with art, much by the artist who lives in it. Lots of warm oak floors and woodwork. Large dining room table. Spacious living room. Great well-equipped kitchenr with mosaic backsplashes. The dining area has morning sun. The full bath has a stunning blue glass mosaic tile tub-surround. Half bath with a washer/dryer is on first floor. Upright piano in foyer. Huge master bedroom with queen bed has an adjacent sitting room. Second bedroom has a queen, and the third has a full bed. Front sun room gets afternoon light. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms, window A/C units in 2 bedrooms and kitchen. Backyard has several trees, a lovely patio, charcoal grill, a flower garden, and a raised vegetable bed. Less than a mile from Loyola University, a few blocks from Whole Foods and local farmers markets, a mile to jazz at the Green Mill, concerts at the Aragon and Riviera, and just blocks to one of the best sandy beaches on Lake Michigan. There's an easy walk to terrific restaurants, shopping, and public transit.
Great house, comfy beds. Only downside is no central AC. The bedrooms have window units, so sleeping was okay, but main floor was pretty warm on the 90 degree days we were there. Other than that, excellent rental.
