The Kanai A Nalu is an oceanfront property located right in the heart of Ma'alaea Bay. From your lanai you will enjoy the an unobstructed ocean view, with postcard sunsets. In the winter you will enjoy amazing shows put on by the Humpback Whales right in the Bay. The complex is located in the Maalaea Village where you are within walking distance to The Maui Ocean Center and Aquarium. The Village also has shops and fabulous restaurants. Here you are able to book your trip on either a whale watching excursion, fishing or snorkeling trips. The kids will enjoy the fact that the complex is within walking distance to the Mini Golf and Sports Park. The resort has a gorgeous oceanfront pool, gas grills, and is just steps to the white sand of Sugar Beach. Sugar Beach is one of the longest continual white sand beaches in Hawaii and is perfect for those who enjoy long walks on the beach. The sounds of the surf, the panoramic views and the amazing sunsets are some of the most spectacular in the world.

Unit 311 is an upgraded 3rd floor ocean view unit that can sleep up to four guests. It has a fully equipped kitchen, washer / dryer, Cable TV/DVD, and free Wi-Fi. There are ceiling fans throughout and an A.C. in the living room. The Master Bedroom has a King Bed, while there are two Twin Beds in the Guest Room that can be converted to a King upon request. There is a answering machine and telephone in the unit that is capable of any local calls and has free long distance to Canada & the U.S.

We used the 2bdrm condo for a week in late Feb and really enjoyed the stay. The lanai provided sunny views of the water, where occasional whales and turtles could be seen. It was a very clean and well provisioned condo with new appliances. Will keep on the list for future visits. Slight issue is that it is located on a dead end road, so ensure you have great directions prior to arrival.

Condo was clean, comfortable and inviting with great views for our morning coffee (and evening cocktails). We love the location in Ma'alaea! It was peaceful without all the tourist trappings of other locations, yet close enough to everything we wanted to do. We will definitely be back!

Great place to relax

We just returned from a great stay in this condo for my 40th birthday. Overall the condo is a good place. I read back a ways that it could use a good deep cleaning(plant in master bath covered in dust) and that is still the case but it's not so dirty that I wouldn't recommend it. Right off the top I would recommend this condo for people who want to stay put and relax. Since there isn't a direct road from the condo to Kihei it takes about 10-15 minutes of driving to get there, or anywhere else for that matter, for food/restaurants/activities. We had lots of activities planned so having to drive that far was kind of a bummer but we made it work. As far as the location in regards to the ocean, it is beautiful. Who doesn't want to wake up every morning looking straight into the blue. We had great views of Molekini and Lanai. A southern swell came up on the second day of our visit so snorkeling was out of the question but we loved walking the beach and playing in the waves close to shore. The pool is heated and was so nice to be in. Were it not for the beach I could've stayed there all day. It was also nice to have towels, coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards provided. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided by the condo.

Probably the only bad thing we noticed was on the last day we found little worms all over the kitchen floor. I'm not sure if they were there all week and we didn't notice them or if they popped up towards the end of our trip but they were very gross. We would clean up 10 or so and within a few minutes there would be 10+ more and we couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Definitely something that needs to be taken care of.

We have scheduled a deep clean to take care of some of the deferred maintenance that we have trouble getting to during our high season to make sure the cleanliness is impeccable. We're very sorry to hear you experienced some insects by the fridge. Hawaii has a very tropical climate, it's always important to keep the counters free of crumbs and water; as well as removing the trash consistently to help keep the critters to a minimum. We did double check this issue after your stay and couldn't find any critters since. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, we are so happy that you had a good time and look forward to your return in the future.

The 311 unit was fine, furnished with all one would need for an extended stay. As a previous owner (25 years) of 412 in this complex I am familiar with the maintenance needed. The sliding screen lanai door was difficult to open, as such, future renters may cause damage trying to open or close. The rollers need to be replaced. The deadbolt lock did not work. Rust or a door misalignment could be the problem. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would again do so in the future.
