About Ann Somers

The Somers family returned home to the coast of Maine in 2010 with the purchase of this amazing cottage. The design, colors and furnishings were a family project. Life is a balance between celebrations, play and relaxation at Seaclusion cottage.

Ann Somers purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Ann Somers chose Belfast

Belfast has become our family's favorite place to visit. Some of us grew up here, some went to college in Maine and others have grown to love this happening city! The cottage is a place to gather and create new memories! It is a thrill to be able to share the sound of loons, seals, bellboys and the waves with our guests and family.

What makes this cottage unique

Whether sitting around the table, lounging by the fire, or reading a book on the porch, the sea is always in view! Sunrises, sunsets, kayak trips, walks on the beach and watching the moon rise on the bay make for a perfect day.

The cottage is a perfect home base for visiting Acadia National Park, Camden - state park and city, Rockland - museums and great food, Searsport - Marine Museum, great shopping in Freeport and all along the coast! The adventures are endless but walking the beach in search of treasures is the best!

Relaxing, beautiful, clean cottage

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is so nice to be on vacation and not feel like you have to do anything because the place you are staying is the ACTUAL vacation. (But, if you want to explore--Belfast is a cute town and the town is not too far from Acadia National Park.) Waking up to the water view each morning was so relaxing; sitting on the screened-in porch in the evening--listening to the waves and the crickets-- was amazing!

Amazing once again!!!

  • 5 of 5

Ann was wonderful, as was the cottage. Our daughter and son-in-law enjoyed a return to their cozy honeymoon cottage and enjoyed a magical weekend. The fact is they hope to return there for many years to come. Ann was accommodating as they had limited time available and she allowed them to make use of every minute. They will long remember morning coffee on the porch overlooking the bay and cozy nights by the fire. Thanks Ann for opening your home and heart to a very special couple who now have more special memories to cherish. They will be back!

Lovely, relaxing cottage - and that view!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, serene cottage with a mesmerizing view of the bay. We spent a wonderful week and couldn't have asked for anything better. Ann was a pleasure to work with - made sure we had all we needed and suggested a great restaurant. Highly recommended!

Perfectly Pleased

  • 5 of 5

If you enjoy waking to a sunrise bouncing off the bay in a well-appointed cottage, walking along the shore and searching for sea treasures or just sitting in the sun and reading a book, this is the place for you! The cottage is located mid-coast and within 90 minutes of Acadia National Park to the north and Portland to the south. We had such a lovely time here. Thank you, Ann!

Relaxation on the Bay

  • 5 of 5

My two adult daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our day on the Bay and wished we could have stayed longer. When we arrived, the cabin was cold. A call to the owner was answered immediately. She discovered that wind had blown out the pilot in the fireplace. She didn't leave until the problem was fixed, and we were toasty cozy from then on. She also gave us excellent tips on where to go for Maine lobster. My girls had a good time exploring the beach at sunrise and sunset. -- All around, a fun cabin experience and a memorable taste of the Maine coast.

Dear Guests, We have a DVD not a VCR. There is an free standing air conditioner that worked great in 2014 the few times cooling was needed - really helps to pull out humidity. We listen to suggestions from our guests and accommodate if possible or desirable. Thanks, Ann and family
