Thank you very much for acknowledging our caretakers, ground keepers Alex and Gregorio and our property manager Janette who working very hard to make sure our guests have most pleasurable experience. Unfortunately the seaweed situation was unusually bad during your stay and we apologize for the inconvenience of the Seaweed in our beach, this is an epidemic that is going on all around the Caribbean. All countries across the Caribbean are struggling to deal with the unusually large amounts of Sargassum seaweed that are being washed up on many beaches this season year. We would like to invite you to stay with us again after the seaweed leaves our shore and offer you a credit for your next stay. Please contact us for details.

Thank you for the stay and review. We are delighted that you found our Shallow Bay Beach House a beautiful place to stay. We like to provide our guests with a high quality experience at an affordable price. You seem like a nice couple and we were happy to see you enjoying the beach, our kitchen and using our outdoor grill. We love it when guests enjoy the amenities we provide. We also remember that when you were checking out of the property, you were very happy and we chatted in the driveway about your good experience. Regarding your review, we apologize that you felt chased out and left 15 minutes earlier than your negotiated check out time, however you must remember that we negotiated a discount with you on our pricing for checking out before 10:00am, as we had an inspection scheduled that day at that time. We asked you the night before if it would be OK to come into the unit a little before 10:00 to set up a new television set, and you agreed. Before we entered, we knocked and asked your permission to enter and you agreed. We were just there for a few minutes. The cleaning service did not arrive until after 10:00 am. If you felt like we intruded, again we apologize, as we would never want a guest to feel this way. Nonetheless, as a result of this, we have changed our reservation policy to allow more time between check ins and allow our guests to enjoy their last day without stressing out about the checkout time deadline. In addition to the early check out discount, you also negotiated with us to lower the cleaning fee and to remove the damage insurance protection in exchange for a refundable deposit. When you checked out we found a tray of open food and fish in the refrigerator. We had to deep clean the refrigerator and freezer to get rid of the fish odor. We found the stained beach towel tossed in a pile with used towels in the hallway. We tried but could not remove the stain, so as a result we had to replace that towel for the next guests. We understand that accidents happen and that is what a damage deposit is for. As you negotiated away the damage insurance fee for the refundable deposit, we split the cost of the towel with you and charged you only $25. We hate having to do this, but without this sort of protection, we would not be able to offer affordable accommodations to our guests. By the way, this was the first time we had ever had to charge a guest for damage. Despite all this, we gave both of you a positive review as guests.
