What stood out to me the most was the awesome patio. It is shared with another condo but it was till awesome because very spacious and the beach front location was a given. There were some minor wear and tear in the condo. As mentioned in other guest review prior, the washing machine makes a very loud noise so I would advise to do your laundry during the day or when you are not in the condo. We had to take our dog to some place else to let her do her job due to lack of grassy area but it wasn’t very far. The staff were very pleasant and tentative when we needed them. The condo had another door aside from the main door that led to the condo next door and that didn’t set too well with us because the knobs on both our door and theirs faced each other to where they can unlock ours and we can unlock theirs so we reported that to the main office and they sent the maintenance guy right away and he fixed the knob for us to where our neighbors can’t open it. He was very pleasant also! All in all we loved it!
We looked at the moon from our patio and it was awesome!

Needs updating! And stocking basic items

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was clean but, it’s very dated and worn. Curtains both in the kitchen and going outside over the sliding doors were badly stained. The washing machine was so loud that we actually couldn’t hear each other talk, we had to sit on the patio and still could hear it quiet loudly, our neighbors came over to check on us because of the loud sound. There were no basic kitchen items to cook meals with, chefs knives, pans, pots, frying pans, only a few miss matched glasses. Floor seems very uneven and mismatched tiles. Bed was very worn and not comfortable.Unit was sufficient and in a good location but, for what we were paying here the unit should be updated and stocked.

Nice community/Unit needs a little TLC

First of all, this is a nice unit that has great beach access! It does need a little updating and some work. There are a lot of cracked tiles in the unit. Just really need to be replaced. The bed is a nice King, but the mattress is quite firm, so if you're not a firm mattress person, this may not be the unit for you. You are required to take your garbage to a dumpster and, for a short person, it's really challenging to open the top of the dumpster. BUT, it was a nice unit with most any kitchen items you may need. Fridge has an ice maker. Stove is a coil burner, so bit outdated, but in good working condition. Lovely deck area with PVC chaise lounges. Def recommend if youre not too picky. Lol. Had a great time! Destin is Gorgeous!

Nice spot

Its a nice spot but can use a little fixing. The shower can use some upgrading where there's no shower curtain laying on the shower floor from multiple stays. The toilet is pretty small and the cracks in the floor should be fixed. Sliding door can use some fixing also. Other than the things mentioned, its nice

Nice unit, just a little on the old and dirty side

Nice unit, needs updated. Somewhat on the dirty side, floors were filthy, feet turned black within seconds of walking on floors.

When we booked the rental, the booking age t said it was a nice unit. We should have looked at the reviews. We were disappointed with the condo.The condo is in need of repairs. The living room curtain is old and stained. The bedroom curtain is deteriorating from age and sun exposure. The grouting has come out of some of the tiles on the floor and shower in the bathroom. There is not a light fixture at the bathroom mirror making it difficult to see to apply makeup or shave.Then after we checked out and returned home a package of mine was delivered to the condo. I called Sandpiper office to ask them to check if it was on the porch of the condo. They said that there was nothing they could do. Fortunately I new someone who lived there and they retrieved my package.

Beautiful Beach Location

Great convenient location

Easy access to the beach from the back door off the porch to the boardwalk & less crowded at this end of the property. Parking is steps from the front door. Management staff was friendly & responsive. We’ve stayed at several Sandpiper units over the years. The unit itself needs some basic repairs, updating & ddep cleaning, caulk and repaint base boards (base boards were filthy), no shower caddy/shelving to place shampoo (shower caddy was broken), missing & inop TV remotes, missing lock/latch on rear sliding door. Furnishings were ok but not practical for the space; coffee table too big for sofa area, dining table/chairs don’t fit well in the area; bedoom furniture/matress could be updated & the commode sits very low & is ackward. Small investment into repairs & furnishings could go a long way. If it weren’t for the location & being pet friendly, we would probably not stay in this unit again merely for the lack of cleaniness & forementioned things. Would recommend but with mention of the cons

The fridge froze my diabetic medication and I had to pay $580.00 out of pocket for replacements. The dishwasher was rusted out and broken and the computer modem didn't work. All these items ended up eventually being replaced. This unit was very dirty, the ceramic tile floor throughout the unit was cracked and filthy. The drapes in the living room and bedroom were filthy and full of holes. The bedspread had holes in it.

The check in process was a mess.

The property was in need of a serious upgrade. The 1 king size bed was two twin versions put together and the mattress had a huge dip in it that you would roll into! No place in the shower to place your soap or shampoo, the sofa was ripped, and the flooring was cracked and dirty. One if the kitchen cabinets smelled like a rat died in it. On the other hand, the location was great!

My Honest Opinion

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I went for a 3 night stay. We love Destin and this was our first time staying at Sandpiper Cove. I was pleasantly surprised and also disappointed. The unit was clean and nicer than the reviews I’d read. However, I was disappointed that it wasn’t “truly beachfront” although it was a short walk from the sand dunes off the deck to the beach. I also was disappointed the decks are not private, they are shared with the condo next door and the rooms adjoin which I didn’t like, although the two doors to the adjoining rooms were locked. There were other things I am little nitpicky about but that’s just because we paid over $2,000 and I feel it could’ve reflected price better, so it didn’t feel worth the money in my opinion. Although it was a nice stay overall, I do not think I would rent there again based on what you get for the price.

False advertising

Ad says beach front condo but they don't tell you there is a bank of sand so high you can't see water and have to go up and over bank to see water. Condo was filthy.we only had 3 days to stay so we didn't have time to find other place.i would not recommend this place at all. I would not own this condo.

The dishwasher top rack was completely rusted and unusable. The tile and baseboard were stained and broken. The couch was stained. The bathroom had mold. And there were huge nasty bugs. The deck is awesome but there was a bunch of animal poop in the back corner everywhere.

In need of TLC

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental is a one bedroom beach side unit which is just steps from the beach. It does not have a great view because it is one the first floor and the dunes block the view of the beach. The unit is in dire need of new furnishings and new floors and some paint. The dishwasher needs replacing. The top shelf will not pull out and it is rusted inside. The spin cycle on the washing machine sounds like a jet taking off. The bath has a stand up shower only which is fine with me but there is no where to put your soap or other items. Also there is no make up mirrors in the bathroom. Other than this, as I said the unit is in close proximity to the beach and the price reflects the problems mentioned.
