Lovely Three Bedroom, Two Bath Condo Located Just A Quarter Mile From Village

This cozy three bedroom condo offers easy access to all that Mammoth has to offer! Just a short walk from the Village Gondola and its nearby shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a quick 4-minute walk to the Westin Monache. If you don't want to walk the quarter mile to the Village, there's a shuttle stop just steps outside that can take you into town or to the mountain.

Come home after a day on the slopes, the trails, or the lake and drop your gear off in the ski storage/mud room, complete with separate entry. Then head upstairs to a warm, wood fireplace in the comfortable living area. Or head out to the community hot tub just a couple of doors down.

Upstairs, the Master Bedroom has a king size bed and a view of the front of the condo. A beautiful, upstairs separate bath has marble sink, updated fixtures, and combination tub and shower. Two bedrooms downstairs sleep 6, in two queen size beds and a set of full size bunk beds. Spacious downstairs bath has marble double sinks and oversized shower. All beds are appointed with luxury linens, warm comforters, and lots of pillows. Bathrooms have basic toiletry items and are stocked with towels.

Updated kitchen features granite counter tops, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and fridge. The lovely space is fully equipped with everything you need to make great meals including a toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, dishes, utensils, glasses and cups, pots and pans, and cooking utensils.

Cozy living area features a warm wood burning stove, flat screen TV with cable and DVD player, and lots of comfortable seating. Wireless internet keeps you connected if you need to be. Back deck offers wonderful views of the mountains, forest, and Lake Crowley in the distance. In the summer months, there's a table and chairs for outdoor dining.

About Annika

Our family has been spending summer vacations in Mammoth for almost three decades -- hiking the trails, fishing the lakes, and watching the July 4th parade! We've even been known to take the occasional winter trip to snowboard (or just sit by the fire with hot cocoa). We're so excited to officially make it our second home.

Why Annika chose Mammoth Lakes

We spent a lot of time looking for the right place in Mammoth and we fell in love with the condos at Lakeview Villas right away. We love the layout of the place, how the bottom floor feels very cozy and warm and has enough space to fit a big family with lots of close friends, like ours. We also like how the top floor is a perfect place for the family to gather. And we can't wait to spend summer nights having dinner on the back deck. We also really love how close it is to the Westin, the Village Gondola, and the shops and restaurants. It's a great location with so many activities just a short walk away. There's so much we enjoy about the place, we're glad we get to share it with people when we're not there.

Overpriced given property's condition

To check in and get the condo keys, I had to deal with the on-site manager- an unsavory man with a sour attitude who was not welcoming and made me feel very uncomfortable. During our stay, I was plagued by the thought of him creeping around the condo or letting himself in while I was there.

The condo pictures show the condo in a better light than its actual condition. The condo and furnishings are worse for the wear. One of the three bar stools at the kitchen counter was horribly broken. There were bulbs burned out in nearly every lighting fixture and the bulbs that were not burned out were those eye-breakingly bright, unnatural light, last forever fluorescent bulbs; these bulbs were even in the bedrooms and lamps.

The living room has an oversized chair and couch. The couch looks inviting but is worn out and smells like body odor. There are bean bags on the floor but they are flat and uncomfortable.

The bath mats in the bathroom were stained and super small. The kitchen utensils were worked over and the pots and pans were grimy. The refrigerator froze everything despite turning it down.

The liquid hand soap in one of the bathrooms was completely out (the one in the other bathroom was very low) which left only little tiny hard soaps for the sink and shower.

There were decent bath towels and decent sheets on the 2 main beds but the flannel sheets on the bunk beds were terribly pilly. The bedroom pillows were lumpy. No extra towels or beach towels are provided for the hot tub.

There were little black ants running around in the first floor bathroom.

Overall, the property is overpriced at over four hundred a night for its current condition. It needs some major TLC including a thorough steam cleaning of the couch and its cushions or entire replacement, carpets need shampooing, need new pillows and bath mats, nicer hand and body soap, and pest control. We were also charged over a hundred for a cleaning fee prior to check in but the rental agreement requires that you wash all the dishes and take all the garbage out to the dumpster.

For these prices, you can stay at a well-appointed lodge with nice amenities and services. The online property manager, Annika, that I emailed with is very nice. However, customers should be treated with dignity and respect by the on-site property manager- the man at the on-site manager’s office, think Texas Chainsaw Massacre, needs a different role where he never comes into contact with guests.

While housekeeping and onsite managers notify us of items they notice need freshening up, they don’t actually live in the space so they may not notice things like the couch being no longer comfortable. We just made plans to replace most, if not all, of the items you mentioned in the coming weeks. I am sorry you had such a bad experience with management, previous guests have usually found him to be quite helpful. Our regular manager was out of town during your stay. I will have a discussion with her about your experience. This is the first complaint we’ve received about anyone feeling unsafe and I feel awful knowing that you were so uncomfortable during your stay. I wish you had mentioned your discomfort when you messaged me about the broken barstool upon your arrival. Had I known that you were so uncomfortable I would have done my best to help make your stay comfortable or to help you find alternate accommodations. I’ve never felt that fearful about being in a place, but I think any feelings that elicit thoughts of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre would have had me seeking alternate accommodations immediately and I would hope that others would do the same, too. That being said, please rest assured you were safe in the condo. He is the former manager and he helps a lot around the community. He would not have entered or been creeping around the unit. We admire your ability to handle your discomfort with such grace and bravery.

Great location!

All the reviews were correct for this condo. It was spacious for 3 adults/3 kids, clean, easy walk to the village, quite and great view from the deck. The kitchen was equipped with almost everything you would need. They didn't have coffee filters but if you come anytime soon, I left the box we bought with a bunch leftover. You will also need to buy foil and/or saran wrap if you use that. Some places we have stayed at provided those items but it's definitely not required. The bathrooms were big and the water pressure was great in the showers. We would definitely stay here again.

It Was Just What We Wanted

My family and I stayed in this condo over Christmas break and it was just perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked for use, the couches very cozy and the bedrooms a good size. The view was great. The upstairs bed was really comfortable. The bunkbeds had futons which I don't find very comfortable. The downstairs bed wasn't too comfortable either. (Can you tell we are all about comfortable beds?) But for a week's stay it was great. There were great DVD's to watch.

I would definitely bring my family back to this unit.

Great location and layout

The condo has a large deck and 3 nice sized bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and they layout was nice. The condo was centerally located near the village and canyon lodge.

Another great weekend!

We stayed at this condo last year for the Mammoth Gran Fondo and loved it so much, we came back!! Again everything was wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking your meals. The balcony and view is too die for!! And Annika again was very great to work with and taking care of minor issues immediately!! See ya next year!!
