Amazing host at home away from home

I work at a summer camp in the area, so this was an ideal place to stay for two weeks due to its central location to my camp. Driving in, there are beautiful views with deer everywhere. The cabin is located directly behind the owner's house, but I didn't see them until the end of my stay. The house is spacious, and I felt at home. The kitchen has everything you may need or want. We asked to stay an extra night and even with someone coming the next day, we were quickly accommodated. We woke to news of flooding on July 4, 2025, but with the house a few minutes drive to the river, no flood waters entered the neighborhood (& this home is toward the back of the neighborhood). The owner called us to tell us the highway was closed & allowed us to stay until we were able to safely leave. She asked if we had any food & my husband let her know that we had packed it but shared we had snacks & we'd be okay. A little while later, she brought us groceries from her own home to ensure we would be able to make breakfast, lunch, & dinner. We were so grateful for her care & hospitality and will definitely be back. Not only is this is a great place to stay, but Carolyn is an incredibly kind and accommodating host. Thank you, Carolyn!

So quiet and peaceful

Nothing fancy, but clean and had all the amenities needed. Calm & peaceful with birds singing in the trees, deer playing in the neighborhood. No traffic noise, dogs barking or noisy neighbors. Just quiet & peace. Loved our stay! Highly recommend!

Nice Hideaway

A secluded guest house that was very clean and spacious. The screened in back porch was a plus. Deer in the yard. Very quiet and serene. The owner was super nice. Well stocked. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was way more and better than we expected. Our host, Carolyn, went way above and beyond what was ever expected for A rental. The details, including a Christmas Tree, were fabulous. The amenities that were provided was way beyond our expectations. We will be back soon, and have already recommended to others about our stay there. Thank you

Birthday getaway

Property was very nice. Everything we needed for cooking. Only thing I didn’t care for were the skylights in the bedroom. I have a tendency to wake up as soon as there’s any light so it was impossible for me to sleep in. But ended our stay very much and will likely be back.

Great Place to Stay!

A very roomy, nice, comfortable place with all you need to have an enjoyable stay. The owners are close by, but we have never actually seen or heard them in the 4 or 5 times we've stayed there. It's a very relaxing time.

Our visit was for nine days.Very cute, cozy, and clean little cabin. Host was very helpful any time we called.Plenty of room. We really enjoyed our visit. This place had everything we needed and was furnished with all kinds of snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back in the area. And we really enjoyed watching the deer running around the yard.

Lost in the woods

The house is about a 20 minute drive to Kerrville so it was a little farther out than I expected. However, there is nothing I can suggest to improve the property. It is quiet, comfortable, easy to find and has a full kitchen with laudry.

Great hill country spot!

This spacious spot in the hill country was the perfect place to stay at for a long weekend. The full fridge and stove made it possible to make some meals at the house, the screened in patio provided for some much needed quiet time in the mornings journaling and praying, and the firm bed was SUCH a nice change from all the too soft beds at other rentals. I would definitely visit again!

Great Vacation

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay. It's a nice, spacious home with all you need, in a beautiful area. It is located right behind the owner's home, but there is a tall wooden fence that separates them and we haven't ever really heard or ran into the owners. I recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet retreat, but within reach of many places to go see and things to do.
