About Margie Klueber

We visited North Captiva Island and were immediately charmed by its unique character. For us it was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Northeast, Though we weren't quite sure whether our young adult children would be equally charmed, they, too fell in love with this island getaway.

Margie Klueber purchased this house in 2012

Guestbook comments from the owner

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The House, weather, stars and the island were great. However the greatest of all were the staff at Ncic who held our hands every step of the way regarding the water taxis etc.

Kim was outstanding. Unbelieveable patience and could not have been more understanding and helpful.

We have 5 children and one flew in from kansas the other from Houston. We try to get all of us together in spring someplace warm. We have been to Naples, Key Largo, Sannibel, Captiva and now North Captiva.

It was voted before we left NC that this is the place we all want to come back to each and every year.

Is it too early to put in our reservations for next year?

Very comfortable and clean.

  • 4 of 5

The home was very nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable and worked well for our group of 2 families. The Island Club didn't have the best service. We went through 4 golf carts for various reasons. The restaurants on the island left a lot to be desired. Only ate out 2 nights Barnacles was not great and took FOREVER. Not good with hungry little kids. The Boathouse had a great server but management was not good. We arrived to a 90 degree room and sweltered for 45 mins before they realized the heat was turned on!!! Not apology from management. Nothing. Don't bother.

Wonderful visit

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time visiting North Captiva Island and I was amazed at what a hidden treasure this place is. I'll Be There is a beautifully decorated home and extremely clean. The kitchen is very well equipped .The spacious living area allows everyone plenty of room while still being together. We used the screened in porch for all our meals and it was such a pleasure looking at the palm trees while watching the birds fly all around. Very relaxing and napping on the hammock was a bonus!

Great location, just minutes from the beach , pool and activities.

The wildlife is incredible , the shells are so colorful and the sunsets are truly magical. This was a perfect little paradise that I highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back !

Perfectfully Wonderful Family Friendly Beach Home

  • 5 of 5

Isle Be There exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable and in a great location just a short walk from the beach and minutes from the pools (one heated and one not). The kitchen was fully equipped with more than enough pans and dishes, so much so that we could always run a full dishwasher. We cooked all but one lunch (at Barnacles which was great) at the house. I reiterate others comments that more food and less clothing is the way to go. We fished, swam, hiked and kayaked. It was a little daunting to think about ferrying over supplies to feed five people for a week but everyone was so helpful and patient with my endless questions. I can't think of anything more we could ask for. This is the first vrbo (and we have been to quite a few) that we are considering returning to. Thanks Margie, for sharing your lovely home with us...we truly did not want to leave.

You'll want to be there!

  • 5 of 5

Isle Be There is a beautiful, clean, affordable home. It's in a great location on the island; close to the club activities, best beach areas and the trail to the preserve. The screened deck is where we spent all of our time while we were there. The view is spectacular and it was so relaxing to rest there. The kitchen is well appointed and it was easy to prepare our meals. Another plus is the excellent communication with the owner, who made everything easy. If you haven't been to North Captiva before, it takes some planning, but Margie will answer all your questions and give great tips for preparing.

We had a wonderful time in North Captiva! What a beautiful place! We enjoyed walking all over the island and kayaking a few times. There is such an abundance of wildlife! The preserve is just stunning, and it's worth it to hike to the south tip of the island. We were able to experience a beautiful sunset and full moonrise all within minutes the last night we were there! Mars was also in full show every evening and was also visible right from the deck. The low light level makes great star gazing! We will have wonderful memories of this special place!

Wonderful trip

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to North Captiva, so we really didn't know what to expect about the experience. There were six of us, 5 adults (three in their 80's) and one 17 year old. We took the North Captiva ferry that was recommended and that was a much easier experience than expected. We drove to the ferry so we brought our own groceries. When we arrived at the check in center they met us at our car and helped us pack all the loose stuff in the bins and tagged our suitcases. It was a very quick and easy process. The house has a wonderful layout. The ground level has a great grill for grilling out. It also has an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off everything before going in. It's perfect to leave all of your chairs and beach items down there and they are ready to go the next day. There were extra beach toys and nets there for us to use. All of the bedrooms are on the next floor and are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The top floor has the main living space. It's a great, open layout with plenty of seating. The seating is very comfortable and there is a huge dining table. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need and there is even a pantry for all of the food you bring. The screened porch off the seating area is huge and was an evening favorite for us. We ate all of our dinners out there and enjoyed the sunset. The beach is beautiful and the water was crystal clear. The house comes with one cart that seats 4 (if the people are smaller you could squeeze on 5). Only the front of the cart is covered, so if it rains you would need an umbrella for the people on the back. If you are thinking of renting another cart do it well in advance as we waited until we got there and there were none available from the North Captiva Island club or any other place on the island. If I had it to do over again I would have rented the 2nd cart because it is just more convenient with 6 people. But you can certainly make it work with one since the island is not very big and the house is conveniently located. Margie was wonderful to work with and gave us great suggestions for things to do. Definitely take advantage of the kayaking. And when you are at the dock where you launch the kayaks, hang around and watch for the manatees. We saw them there every day. I would highly recommend this house and can't wait to come back!
