Cute little cottage right off the waterfront

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just the right size and the perfect location for a romantic honeymoon getaway. We watched the sunrise from our bed every morning, some days we stayed at the cottage relaxing and walking the beach other days we ventured to other towns like Bar Harbor which was around 45 minutes drive away. There we got a chance to be more "touristy" by going on a Lobster/Seal sight seeing tour and walking the strip, stopping in any store that caught our eye. Paddy's was amazing! We got a chance to wonder around Acadia Bational Park and even got out of bed early on our last day to be one of the first people to see the sunset that day from the top of the mountain. Every night we stayed at the cottage, enjoying smores at the fire and listening to the tide come in. We hated having to say good bye to the peace and relaxation Dream Harbor gave us.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

It was great to get away from big city life and come stay at the cottage. The views were amazing and the cottage was well kept and clean. We spent most of our time at Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, and it wasn't too long of a drive to get to them. We would definitely stay again!

A little piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Looking at the pictures we couldn't wait to get away for the week in this charming ocean front cottage! Dick and Cheri make sure you have everything you could possibly need on hand. The cottage was neat and cozy. The view from the loft bedroom is incredible, we woke up to the sun rising over the water and the views were breath taking. Our visit was mid-late October so the lobster shacks weren't open but the fall colors were worth it. We were only a short drive away from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We also were close enough to check out a couple lighthouses, again we were just past the dates to visit the inside but seeing the outside and being right on the coast was amazing. The area the cottage in is so peaceful even though there are neighbors you don't even notice! We are hoping to visit again in the summer. I would and have recommended Dream Harbor to friends and family!! Thank you, Dick and Cheri for a wonderful visit! It was everything we had hoped for. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay. The house is right on the water. The views across the bay were great.

We were able to see a lot of the area from Surry. We really enjoyed Perry's lobster shack which is about a 1 minute walk from the house. We loved the area.

Sweet little cottage

  • 5 of 5

A sweet little cottage overlooking a harbor full of sail boats and lobster boats. Woke to a fabulous view of the harbor and Acadia National Park across the bay. Often went to bed in the evening to the sound of the ocean lapping against the rocks directly outside the cottage. A lobster pound/restaurant right next door with fabulous lobster rolls, and 60's music wafting across to the cottage. Eleven miles from Ellsworth with plenty of good restaurants. Pug Nuts about six miles away for great ice cream. Ellsworth library offered internet access. Easy trip to Acadia. Fabulous weather, especially at night for very comfortable sleeping.

Cottage was clean and well furnished. Only minor complaint was lack of bathroom sink and need to use limited counter space in kitchen for bathroom accessories. Overall a lovely spot and would definitely come again.

Wonderful restful vacation right on the water

  • 5 of 5

This is the 3rd year my wife and I have spent a week at Dream Harbor. Day trips to Mt. Desert Island and Deer Isle are reasonable distances, but this year we found it very pleasant to spend more time at the cottage and the immediate environs. We especially enjoy the lapping of the water so close to the cottage at high tide.

We had 2 great lobster dinners at Perry's last week (BYOB). We highly recommend the new ice cream/gelato store - Pignuts - in Surry. In Ellsworth, Cellar Bistro is an incredible value between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. 7 days a week (half price beer, wine and small plates). Also in Ellsworth, the Union Village Lobster Pot is worth a visit on a good weather day. They are very busy and don't take reservations - but while waiting outside with a beeper we have seen bald eagles, osprey, great blue heron, and even seals!
