Our Great Room is truly “great”! Recessed lighting, coffered ceilings, and a roomy dining area – featuring a hand-made glass top, koa wood dining table -- are just the beginning. Follow a day of sightseeing or beach-going with a quiet evening at home. Choose from the many books in our library ad popular games from our collection. For your soundtrack, plug your Apple device into the Surround Sound speakers. Or just plop down on the comfy sectional and watch the massive 50” flat screen TV with Blu-Ray player and about a bazillion cable channels!
The well-appointed Kitchen at our Big Island condo – with its cherry wood cabinets and granite countertop island – is a great place for creating casual meals or more formal dinners. (As formal as the Big Island gets, anyway!)
If this spectacular Mauna Kea vacation rental feels like a home-away-from home, that’s because it’s our family’s home-away-from home, too! We’ve made countless memories here. And as they say on the Big Island, “Memories, like our sunsets, last forever.”
STAY CONNECTED. We’re working vacationers, too! That’s why we provide you with FREE wireless or wired high-speed Internet. There’s even a spacious desk and comfortable chair in one of the master bedrooms – if you can take your eyes off the ocean right out the window!

About Richard Lasser, Owner
Most of the past 21 years we've frozen our toes off in Seattle. So you can imagine how excited we were to finally make our dream come true and purchase this lovely second home for us, our kids and grandkids. But we're working folk, so we can't get down to the Big Island as much as we'd like. So, we hope you enjoy it when we can't be there. This is not just a rental for us. It truly is our second home, and that's how we've designed and furnished it, right down to the artwork on the walls and the 600-thread count, Egyptian cotton sheets. So we know you'll be comfortable, happy and pleased with all the design choices we've made. Enjoy your time in our home away from home. Wish we were there!

Perfect Big Island Condo
This was a perfect place to stay for our family of 6. The views are beautiful, the condo has every amenity and the owner is a joy to work with. We wouldn't change a thing.
This place was amazing!! Would give 10 stars if I could. We would stay here 365d of the year.
This place was fantastic. Seemless check in and checkout. The condo is huge and exquisite. Access to the 2 beach resorts is very convenient. Both mauna kea and hapuna beaches were beautiful- we were partial to hapuna. Use the boogie boards, snorkels and noodles in the garage to ride some waves and see multiple tropical fish and sea turtles!! Eat breakfast on the lanai ( and see Maui on clear day), watch the sunset from Hapuna beach or from the nearby lava lava beach club and grab some dinner after (call to be put on the waitlist) . Go buy some gifts at the nearby hamakua macadamia nut company. We had one small cofffee pot issue that was taken care of easily and quickly!
I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. We would go back tomorrow if we could.
I am sooo glad you had a great time. You are a dream guest and I welcome you back to our home anytime!

A little piece of heaven!
My husband and I have visited Hawaii 8 times in the past 12 years. The Kohala Coast is one of our favorite locations particularly in February in March as it tends to be dry. This trip did not disappoint! Not only was the weather perfect but so was this condo! From my first inquiry, Richard was immediately responsive. While we love condos, you never know what you are going to get. Some condos are outfitted with more amenities than others. I can say with absolute certainty that Richard's condo is at the top of our all time favorite lists. Not only was it decorated impeccably with high end furnishings and accessories, but the quality of the kitchen utensils, bath and pool towels, the entertainment equipment, puzzles, games, pool and beach toys was above anything we could have imagined and everything we could have wanted!
We often find that the cookware, knives, or kitchen accessories are mediocre at best. There have been times we have not been able to successfully cut a pineapple because knives are so dull, not in this instance! We were able to cook gourmet meals with top of the line tools!
Not only was the unit everything we could have asked for from a quality standpoint, but the views were spectacular. As family traveling with small children, we especially love the amenity package of having the ability to use the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince resorts, the easy beach and pool access is wonderful!
Every time we leave Hawaii, we are anxious and ready to plan our next trip. This trip is no exception! We hope to come back and stay at this exceptional condo again!
Condo with a view!
The condo was extremely clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need though some of the utensils and frying pans could be replaced. Richard, the owner, was great to deal with. We spent 2 weeks relaxing and enjoying the amenities . I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the Lanai in the morning with coffee and watching the goats cavorting on the golf course. ( I am sure the golfers did not appreciate this!). The amenity package included both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels. I would have rated this 5 stars but the amenities were not as enjoyable as in past visits. I know this was because we were staying during the annual SAP outing where they bought out the Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels not to mention the Mauna Lani and Orchid as well. Access to the beach chairs was severely limited and you could not get lunch or drinks at the beach bar at either resort. You did not feel welcome and you definitely felt like you were intruding. More so at Mauna Kea than Hapuna. Even after the SAP group left Mauna Kea had a separate area for owners of the club. We never knew where to sit as the area for the club was not set up, you had to set up your own umbrellas and even chairs. Hapuna was more welcoming and the new adult pool was delightful. The hotels have changed hands and Hapuna is undergoing renovations. We had great drinks and lunch at both beach bars after SAP left and the food and drinks were great though expensive. We had dinner at Manta our last night which we had been looking forward too after our last visit 2 years before when we had a truly memorable meal unfortunately not this time. The food was very average . It’s pretty bad when you have to salt tuna tartare! In fact we had to salt everything, which is highly unusual in a restaurant. The only good part was the service which was exceptional. I would still recommend this condo and the amenities, however, not when SAP is there.
Thanks so much for being our honored guest! I'm so sorry the conventioneers swamping the hotels dampened your stay. And Manta and other hotel restaurants can be pricey and overrated. If you come back, I'd like to give you a free night for your trouble, and I can recommend many local and wonderful dining options where you'll dine like a local and have the best food the Big Island has to offer. And thanks for the tips about our pots and pans and utensils. I'll have our staff review those and replace those that need it.
We welcome you back anytime!

A beautiful property in lovely surroundings.
A great place to stay - includes use of a clubhouse which had a great pool. It is well maintained - if there are any prob lems someone is easily contactable to help. We enjoyed cooking for ourselves rather than using restaurants - regular barbecues on the balcony!
Sally, you flatter us with your too kind words. We hope you'll honor us again with your presence very soon.

What a beautiful home! Views of the ocean are breathtaking!
Such a beautiful home and the view from the master bedrooms and Lanai were breathtaking. Everything we needed to cook was supplied in the kitchen and towels were abundant. Boogie boards and coolers in the garage made for fantastic days at the beach.
We loved the Maina Kea resort and beach, so having access to it was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.
Your exceedingly kind words are what inspires me to keep our home beautiful, up to date and comfortable for wonderful folks like you! You just made my day. Please do come again!
