Castaway Cottage – paradise at the beach!

Welcome to “Castaway Cottage" - a cozy and comfortable cottage with a fun "desert island" theme, located directly on the oceanfront! This cottage can sleep up to eight people, and provides direct access to the beach with no road to cross!

This cottage is located in the beach community of Indialantic -- the best surf on the Florida coast! A quaint beach community with a dog beach and two public beach parks with lifeguards within one mile. Many great beach shops, restaurants, parks - a quiet but fun area safe for the whole family.

You will have direct access to the beach by using the private path on the north side of Salty Dog house. However, you will NOT have access to the back yard, hot tub and tiki hut -- those areas are for the private use of Salty Dog renters.

Welcome to “Castaway Cottage!” Your journey begins as you find yourself marooned on an uncharted island. As you enter the palm-lined driveway you discover a small cottage – perhaps left behind from a group previously stranded here? It looks as though they gathered things they could find on this island to construct a cozy and comfortable living space.

The main living space of the cottage has a hand-made driftwood sign with the name “Crusty Crab.” In here you find a brand-new fully equipped kitchen (maybe a ship carrying kitchen furnishings dropped some of its cargo?) with all the appliances and dishes needed for fixing meals. It also appears that a beautiful large sofa washed ashore, and it contains a queen-size sleeper. Somehow these clever folks also found a brand new 55” OLED TV to keep them occupied during their stay on the island.

Down the hall you find “Coquina Cliff” - a full bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Apparently these previous guests found some clever way to get running water from some hidden spring on the island!

In the back of the cottage you find two bedrooms. One bears the name “Coral Cabana.” Here you find a “tree house” with beds to sleep up to three people, along with wall decorations that some previous guests must have found on the beach. The other bedroom is aptly named “Coconut Cove” – the queen-size bed is surrounded by decorations featuring coconuts and palm trees, including a TV in the hidden palm cabinet.

While this amazing little cottage does not have a direct view of the beach, it is located on the beachfront property. By following a private trail on the north side of the other house on the property you may walk directly onto the beach (without crossing any road). The beach shed near the path contains beach items for your use, including beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and boogie boards.

While you are “stranded” at Castaway Cottage we encourage you to enjoy some of the MANY fine dining and entertainment opportunities in the area, including:
* Orlando attractions, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World (just over an hour drive west)
* Kennedy Space Center (one hour drive north)
* Cocoa Beach Pier and Ron Jon's Surf Shop (15 minutes north)
* Brevard Zoo
* Indialantic Boardwalk
* plenty of shopping opportunities at Melbourne Square mall and Town Center at Viera (both about 15 minutes away)

If your “crew” includes furry four-footed mates, then you are in luck! Castaway Cottage welcomes dogs on board for a small additional fee. Please disclose any pets at time of booking, and agree to pay the pet fee of $40 per night.

PLEASE NOTE: The cottage shares the same beachfront lot with the "main" house so you will pass by the house and share the beach access with the people living in the main house.

You will need a car. Parking is available on-site for up to two cars.

There is another house on the property - there may be other guests present there that will share the beach access with you.

NOTE: You do NOT have a view of the ocean from inside the house

NOTE: Your dog is welcome for an extra fee of $40 per night

NOTE: Absolutely NO SMOKING of ANY substance at the property

NOTE: There is NO washer/dryer on the premises; there is a laundromat about 1 mile south
