About Jimmy Steindecker

This house is owned by Jimmy Steindecker. He is close friends with Mikell Towery, who owns the B&B next door called Mikell's Big House. Mikell is the manager and runs this newly renovated property with the same care she shows her guests at the B&B. While you have more privacy at Andy Warhol, you are still invited to Mikell's legendary Saturday happy hour porch parties, taking place every Saturday during the summer months.

Jimmy Steindecker purchased this house in 2012

Why Jimmy Steindecker chose Shore Region

Jimmy bought this house right next door to Mikell's Big House in order to have Asbury Park's premier hostess make sure guests have a great stay. Mikell's personal knowledge of Asbury Park and all it has to offer ensures a truly memorable experience. She will provide you with her own map of Asbury (highlighting the best places) and make sure you know what is going on in town.

What makes this house unique

Andy Warhol has Mikell's signature eclectic style. It is equipped with a new kitchen, Fios and all channels, wi-fi, air conditioning, new bathroom, great furniture and comfortable beds.

First timers in Asbury Park

  • 5 of 5

We booked this place a couple days before our check in date. It was one of the few last minute places available that accepted dogs. We came from Connecticut and it was our first time in Asbury Park. My family and I can describe it as a quiet, family oriented, dog friendly town. Mikell, the manager gave us a map of our surroundings upon arrival which was super helpful. The dogs loved the dog beach (a bunch of people go around 5:30 PM). The beach is free before 8:30 AM and after 5 PM. It is smart to go before 8:30 AM to avoid the $5 beach badge fee for each person, as when you are in the beach they cannot charge you. We were excited for "Happy Hour" which is a bar where you can take your dogs, but be wary they will not allow entry unless your dog is neutered. The boardwalk was average. Back to house, the house was wonderful. There were beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a toaster (which i think needs to be replaced), coffee maker (which i broke so I bought a new one haha), microwave, a really good refrigerator, garbage bags supplied, towels supplied, linens, salt, pepper, cayenne ( i guess from past people that just left the spices there), and you even get a small shampoo and conditioner from Aveda upon arrival, and a soap. There were even small face towels, dish washing soap, and hand soap. It was just like a hotel. Our dogs had the best time. I give this property a double thumbs up.

Just another gem in Asbury

  • 5 of 5

Another great time. Property was cute, clean, and inviting. Short jaunt to beach. Spent wine time with Mikell again. Looking forward to return next season.

One of Asbury's finest

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a week in this quant cottage. The place was very nice, clean, and decorated tastefully. Pleasant short walk to beach. Owner Jimmy and manager Mikell were friendly, helpful, and fun. Loved hanging out and drinking wine. Both were very accommodating to all our needs. New arrival was not coming until tomorrow, so we were allowed to hang out a few hours extra. Put the cherry on top of our vacation. Will definitely return and recommend all of Jimmie's and Mikell's places. A very pleasant and stress free vacation made possible by these two great people. Thanks so much.

Great beach house

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this 2 bedroom beach house with a few girlfriends for a long weekend. It was perfect. A grill and picnic table were provided, which made for fun dinners. The beds in each bedroom were huge, and easily accommodated 2 people each. And - the best part - the house was located only 3 short blocks from the boardwalk and beach. Mikell, the manager, was very attentive and answered all of our questions. She even provided us with a handy map of the best places to eat. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Style, charm and hospitality by the sea

  • 5 of 5

I just read a review from someone who stayed here and I have to say--I don't know what they are talking about! I don't usually write responses (I think they are all bogus)--but I think the owners of the property go above and beyond to make you feel like you're staying at your own luxury home on the Jersey Shore. I've stayed in many places along the shore--and this was the most stylish, hip and comfortable place I've stayed. My family (father, mother, teen and a dog) have never felt more at home at the beach (and yes, I knew our dog was having a great time!). The accommodations were absolutely spotless and modern (and for a place on the shore--very spacious!). We were staying on the ground floor of a very cool building on the property that was quiet and private. We never had trouble parking, could easily walk to the beach and downtown, had many options for restaurants and even saw an awesome live band! I'd never been to Asbury--but my whole family loved the urban, artistic vibe of the place (and my teen--who hates family trips--had the time of her life and even asked if we could go back soon). And have you been to "Yappy Hour"?!? We met a bunch of cool people and their dogs at this sea-side happy hour for pet owners. So, in short, this was the perfect retreat from the closed quarters of NYC. I will be telling all my friends to go--and will certainly return myself!!

Not a shore house

  • 1 of 5

My wife, 4 month old and I returned to Asbury Park after moving from NJ to IA last year. We were scheduled to stay here for a week just before the summer season began, but when we arrived the property manager informed us that the city was having some issues with the sewer, leading to an odor in the unit. The smell was unbearable, but did not smell like sewer so much as if they had just bug-bombed the unit. The property manager and owner were extremely friendly and accommodating in immediately refunding our money. I can't fault them for that, whatever the cause of the problem. However, the unit is listed as a "Two Bedroom Beach House" which it is clearly not. The picture on this site (as of today) shows a beautiful brown house, which is the front building but not the building this is in. This is not a house at all, but an entry-level unit of a refurbished garage behind the house, with an additional unit upstairs. It opens directly onto a common parking lot that is used by several units for both parking and partying. This will make for a nice rental if you are looking for a party weekend at the beach, but did not seem good for a quiet family getaway. There is very little, if any, privacy. The interior is dimly lit and not all of the windows open or have screens. The TV is mounted crookedly on the wall, with wires dangling down the wall. Overall, just not a "luxury rental" but more of a "college-level party pad".

Owner's Response: Wow. I'm truly amazed someone would write this. He was first offered two other accommodations, one in the "beautiful brown house" he describes as well as an entire 3 bedroom house where he would have plenty of privacy, both of which he declined. When he decided to leave he was graciously given a full refund. I should note that he was told up front about the slight odor coming from the toilet, due to a city sewer problem a block away (which did not effect the more spacious alternate accommodations he was offered). The odor is the only complaint the guest makes that is valid, and this was subsequently fixed. The “garage” he refers to is a completely renovated , charming carriage house built in the 1880's. Homes of this era frequently had additional buildings- and many of our guests appreciate the privacy this unit affords. The other complaints do not even deserve a response as they are just not true. You might ask yourself why this would happen? Sometimes, we get the occasional guest that just doesn't 'get' Asbury Park and does not respond to its distinctive quality. Why they chose to vacation here, I don't know. Maybe they've heard it's cool. So, I'd like to let other people know what Asbury is like. It's not's a hip, urban, artsy little city right on the beach. If you're looking for manicured lawns and story book perfection, this is not the right place for you. But if you love the beach, world class dining, the art and music scene, Asbury is for you. We're a diverse community so, racists and homophobics should choose another place. But if you enjoy being part of an open minded, sophisticated little city by the sea, Asbury Park is calling you.
