Beautiful Spanish Revival Getaway
We spent our first anniversary here and loved it! All suggestions made by previous reviewers had been addressed so everything was perfect! We loved having a comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom with soaking tub, clean shower, and nicely remodeled kitchen. WiFi was good and view of the town was nice. We enjoyed exploring the area from San Juan Capistrano to San Clemente and everything was only 10-15min from the cottage. So many cool antiques adorn the interior, and the history of the place make it that much more special. The community is very quiet.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The good and not so good
Overall, the villa was lovely with super fun balconies. It was also very quiet. The villa has wonderful character and lovely historical fixtures and decor. Manager John was prompt in his communication and available for all my questions. The not so good is that expense of the rental did not reflect the service and supplies I would expect. I showed up and there was not a notebook to inform me of wifi and all the necessary details. When I called John, he informed me he found it missing when he was there and didn't know where it was. As I result, I spent a good 20 to 30 minutes looking in every drawer to find it. This shouldn't be my responsibility. I paid $1000 for my three night stay - if he knew it was missing then he should have found it before I got there. There was also only one wash cloth, which means we needed to share. As well, I have allergies. There were no tissues and I forgot them. So I used toilet paper. I ran out of the starter roll of toilet paper that was given to me. THERE WAS NO MORE. JOHN TOLD ME I HAD TO GO BUY MY OWN AT RALPHS DOWN THE STREET BECAUSE HE ONLY SUPPLIES A STARTER ROLL. Did I mention my stay cost me $1000? The lighting is definitely an issue and I was grateful to have read reviews so I had brought with me a headlamp to read at night. While I absolutely loved all the balconies and lovely historical nuances of the place, I will not be returning.
Great location. Loved the neighborhood. Easy access
Will definitely rent again
Super charming Spanish Colonial
Very cute place in excellent condition. Great kitchen, lots of outdoor spaces. Easy to get to from Hwy 1. Was glad to have a king bed. Only minor complaint was that the mattress could be more comfortable.
Came out to the area for pageant of the Masters. Fell in love with the Spanish Revival design and loved the mural in the bedroom of Avalon, Catalina Island which is a very special place for my fiance and I. Love the bikes, use them for a quick trip down to local restaurants. Just love the balconies around the whole house. One suggestions to make stay more accommodating have a power strip available for the bedroom. Besides that would love to visit this place again next time we're out in the area thank you.
