Welcome to tranquil Casita Azalea Blanca, a 1BR/1BA gem in Garcia Gimenes, ideally located on the edge of historic Centro and vibrant downtown Merida. Jump into the gorgeous pool, cook in the fully-equipped kitchen, and bask in a quiet, secure neighborhood.

Perfect for a single or couple who needs a quiet haven to work or just get away.

The space
This is a beautiful, quiet property with fast wifi and is perfect for working during the day. Snuggle up in this comfortable, stylish casita on your days off, or enjoy shared access with 2 other small units to the beautiful well-kept pool, hammocks, swings and a bbq. You will love having access to a nearby neighborhood markets. Centro and Paseo de Montejo are an easy 5-7 minutes by Uber or your own car. Uber rides to downtown and Centro are $3 to $5 USD. We have an excellent, affordable source for car rentals. It's fun to be able to go to Centro and then retreat to a quiet area.
Guest access
The casita is entirely yours to use with a private entrance. You will share access to the pool area with just one other twin casita and a two bedroom home, so it is highly likely you will get some private time, while others are out exploring.
You will also share access to the laundry room. It is located in the passageway on the side of the house, behind the sliding door.
Other things to note
This casita is designed to accommodate 2 people, but a third and/or fourth person (smaller person) could sleep comfortably on the sofa sleeper. Sheets and pillows will be provided upon request and will be placed inside the sofa on the left hand side.

Beautiful spot and great kitchen amenities! (yeah I like to cook) the García Gineres part of the city is also generally very quiet, only in about half of my stay there started a construction in the house just nextdoor and some evenings they had parties. But besides that, everything was great and host communicated swiftly, answering all of my questions and requests. I only had small trouble getting in because of the cross shaped keyhole that didn’t look like a keyhole but I figured it out in the end. Highly recommended!

Great stay! Kitchen was well equipped. Even though the washer and dryer is shared, it’s very clean. Host also left out detergent and lots of other cleaning materials. Adequate size pool, cleaner came to clean it once during our stay which was nice. But it did get a bit dirty in between cleans.Location is slightly far from city center however Uber is only USD2-3 away. Street parking outside seemed safe enough.

Loved our stay! Host and management team were very attentive & made sure we felt comfortable. I have Stiff Person Syndrome & they told me to use the patio chair for support in the shower.They also treated us to wine & bananas for my husband's birthday. The next day the came with brownies because of a check in issue we had. The bed was so comfortable & the pool was so warm. Thank you,Jeff

Great experience and I will definitely stay here again! My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights and it really felt like home by the end.The unit is exactly as pictured. Comfortable furniture, a fully stocked kitchen with all of the utensils, pans, coffee maker, etc. needed to feel comfortable and make your own food. Having the pool right outside was ideal and was a great way to cool off mid-day.The bed was comfortable and the ACs worked great during the hot days. The wifi was strong and allowed both of us to work remotely and join video calls no problem. Having access to the washer and dryer was so helpful for our long stay.The property management team was phenomenal! So responsive and helpful when we had questions. There is plenty of free street parking outside of the unit which made it really easy for us to rent a car to go on excursions outside of the city (beach, cenote, Chichen Itza. etc)The location is a quiet neighborhood with a lot of essentials (grocery store, pharmacy, cafe, fruit stand, etc) within a 10-15 min walk. Centro Merida is a quick uber away, otherwise it's an easy 30 min walk away or you can hop on the bus which picks up right around the corner from the unit. This unit had two bikes that we made use of to get through the city even faster.This is the perfect vacation rental and I wish all of them lived up to this standard of hospitality. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful apartment, well equipped and well decorated. Very comfortable bed. Place seems well stocked with utensils and other necessities. The shared washer and dryer proved to be very convenient. The property manager stayed connected by periodically checking on me for any service needs. The property is in a very residential neighborhood, and an UBER ride away from cafes, restaurants and walking tours.

Why they chose this property

We were determined to buy a property in Centro, but after fighting for parking spaces, enduring noise at all hours of the day and night and navigating traffic, we found our sweet spot in the beautifully peaceful Garcia Gineres.

Just steps away from Oxxo, you can buy supplies and about 50 yards further to the fruit market. There is often someone selling pastries on the corner.

We love walking the neighborhood in the evening or taking the bikes out (which you can use). If you go north on Calle 22, you'll run into beautiful Parque de las Americas, where there are often food vendors and concerts on the weekends.

If you don't have a car, you can catch the bus on the corner by Oxxo or call an uber to take you to town for about $5. It's a 7 to 10 minute drive from Centro, Paseo de Montejo and Downtown. It has super easy access to grocery stores, pharmacies, the airport and the main roads that take you north.

Garcia Gineres is the original spot where the wealthy merchants built their homes. You can drive or walk around the neighborhood and see many of these historic beauties.

What makes this property unique

Casita Azalea Blanca is part of a lovely enclosed property that includes a home and two casitas at the rear of the property. Each unit is fully functional as its own home. The three units share a laundry room that is accessed in the outside passageway.

Outdoor shared areas include Yucatan swings, hammocks, lounge chairs, outdoor dining and lush landscaping.
