We had major issues with this property due to the lack of hot water for almost two days. When we arrived, we were told the water heater had previously failed but was “good to go.” However, on Day 2, we had no hot water after 10 AM, and on Day 3, we had no water at all for most of the day. We were unable to shower, wash dishes, or take care of basic needs until late that evening. We even had to go to a hotel just to shower, which should never be necessary during a vacation rental stay.These issues forced us to come up with a Plan B for Christmas, going out to dinner instead of being able to host our family, including our daughter who was supposed to stay with us. The disruption also caused unexpected extra expenses, including Uber charges, meals out, and other costs directly related to the lack of water and the interruption to our plans.While the host eventually acknowledged the problem, he was unwilling to offer more than a one-night refund, which does not fairly reflect the level of inconvenience we experienced. This was a significant interruption to our trip, and unfortunately the compensation offered did not match the situation.The property itself may be fine under normal circumstances, but based on how this issue was handled, I would not stay here again.
