We loved this property from the moment we saw it for its charm.
We are the owners!
This tastefully remodeled bungalow was the perfect house for our recent trip to LA. The owners are designers who have created a modern and clean, yet very livable and comfortable space. We had our two younger children with us, and the home accommodated us all comfortably. The bathrooms and beds are simple, but beautiful, and the private hedged courtyard was private and serene. The house was very relaxing, and we all slept very well. The location suited us very well, as it was reasonably proximate to the Getty Center, Dorothy Chandler and our friends and family in Beverly Hills and San Fernando Valley. The easy walk to Melrose Ave. was a big hit. Last but not least, the owners and their staff were very welcoming, with a high attention to detail. We hope to stay here again, the next time we return to LA.
We had another wonderful stay at La Maison Blanche that included Easter. How great it was to have a nice Easter dinner outside on the beautiful front lawn with thirty long stem white roses blooming in the garden.
La Maison Blanche has a great location. We like to walk, so we could walk to the Grove, and to the Beverly Center. It is a longer walk to Runyon Canyon Park, but very enjoyable. It is always fun to take an evening stroll along Melrose to look in the funky shops and eat at the wonderful restaurants. There are great little theaters along Melrose and Santa Monica Boulevard.
We love our LA home, and it is made more enjoyable by the owners. They are always there to help us if we need anything. We can’t wait to return.
We stayed here for a short stay in July with our 3 children. The house was clean and had everything we needed, including a good sized kitchen and a washer/dryer. The location is good if you want to go to the beach, Disneyland, Hollywood, and there are so many restaurants close by. The owner was very accommodating. We weren't able to stay in this place for the last night (due to someone else having already booked it), and she was quick to find us another place (also very nice) a few minutes drive away. She kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. Both houses were attractively decorated and had a quiet place outside to eat, have a glass of wine and relax. The whole family was very happy - which is a big factor for us when we're traveling.
How wonderful it was to return to our home in West Hollywood. This is our second stay in La Maison Blanche. We were there for five weeks and we could not have had a better vacation. The home is perfect for entraining. I love a space where I can cook and the kitchen is adjacent to the dining and living room.
The location is perfect. It is just a short walk to Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose. We rode the city bus and it would take us where we wanted to go. All we had to do was walk to Melrose or Santa Monica Blvd. It was great to have parking in the drive way or on the street. There is no permit parking on the street. There is great theater and dinning just a short walk from the house.
We enjoyed the front lawn. Even though it is on the street it is isolated by the fichus trees, and when we sat out there for our morning coffee of our evening cocktails we felt like it was just us. In the evening the stars were so bright that you forgot you were in the middle of a large city.
Our grandsons live and work in the area. We hope that La Maison Blanche will be our home in West Hollywood for many more years.
We just spent two months staying in this wonderful little bungalow, and we could not have been happier. It really does look exactly as depicted in the photographs, so there are no surprises. The garden in the front is a serene little oasis; you wake up to the sound of trickling water in the fountain, and all day you can watch hummingbirds flitting in and out of it. The location is extremely convenient - you're never too far from anywhere. The beds are comfortable, all the electronics work well, and the owners respond instantly to every request. The kitchen is large, so it's excellent for entertaining. And the living room is a peaceful, lovely space.
I can only think of two small drawbacks. Those white floors are really difficult to keep clean. And the shared driveway can be a nuisance; we and our neighbors were constantly knocking on each others' doors to get our cars in and out. (Parking in West Hollywood is notoriously difficult.)
I was looking for a comfortable charming place in West Hollywood to stay when I came for two weeks to be with family. My daughter who lives in West Hollywood enjoyed staying also. I had wonderful walks in the morning in the neighborhood. I also rented a car there for the first time and the location was perfect to get around. Julie was amazing and always quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely stay in this property again. I look forward to coming with some girlfriends and spending more time in the courtyard. The place is as charming as the pictures show. Thank you Julie for a wonderful experience. Hope to be in touch with you for my next visit soon!!
My friend and I were looking for a place to stay in LA while we were interning this summer and we were so lucky to find Samantha and Julie's lovely bungalow. It was such a lovely place to stay and as hosts they were so gracious and accommodating. The location was perfect and was so close to so many great hangouts - we were practically spoiled for choice. The house itself is just as light and airy as the name suggests and the outdoor garden is the perfect escape from the LA bustle! Both of us had cars so the adjacent driveway was the perfect solution - makes parking so easy and stress free (which, believe me, in LA is a serious gift). All in all, our stay was wonderful and I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking to visit LA. Thanks again for a wonderful summer!
This bungalow is located in the heart of West Hollywood and within walking distance of The Grove, Whole Foods and some of the most popular and distinguished dining, bars and nightclubs. My friends own the popular and famous Osteria Mozza and JAR restaurants located in the neighborhood that will become your favorite places to join friends and colleagues for drinks and dining.
