Scenic year-round, 4 bedroom home situated on Lake Algonquin in Wells, NY nestled on a quiet lake cove. Great for vacationing with multiple families. Conveniences close by without sacrificing peaceful relaxation. You and your guests will enjoy our wrap around deck, screened in porch, and cozy sunroom with incredible views of the lake and mountains. Outside, you can enjoy our boat dock or pull up an Adirondack chair to the outdoor firepit and roast some marshmallows while listening to the peaceful ambience of the Adirondacks. Newly renovated upper deck off the lakefront bedroom. Enjoy your coffee in the morning or your wine in the evening on the upper deck off the master bedroom.

This home is an ideal setting for family reunions with a large living room, newly renovated kitchen/dining room that's great for meals and family game night. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, bedroom 2 has a full size bed and bedroom 3 has a full size bed along with a bunkbed, bedroom 4 has two bunkbeds, the bottom bunks are full size beds and the top are twin. WE DO NOT PROVIDE LINENS AND TOWELS YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN. The town of Wells is a sleepy locale straight out of a Hallmark movie. Children's playground, tennis courts, and a pavilion with picnic tables are just across the street. Public boat launch nearby. Sandy town beach a 10 minute walk down the road. 3 min or 10 minute walk to two General Stores for last minute needs (including take out pizza, movie rentals, beer, soda, & gifts) and an ice cream stand to keep the kids happy.
Nothing compares to autumn in the Adirondacks. Beautiful colors from the surrounding mountains reflect perfectly off the glass-like lake. Canoe and Kayak lovers will marvel at the wildlife in the connecting river as their paddles cut gracefully through tranquil waters. Ambitious bikers ride the bike route to other scenic lakes in the Adirondacks. Just a half hour away in North Creek, you can even find the recently-viral rail bikes!
In the winter enjoy the many outdoor activitues in the area. After a day of skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating or a simple walk, come into the warmth of our indoor wood stove. The boot room keeps all of your winter belongings out of the way yet dry and ready for your next winter adventure.

The Home is well done and ready for a relaxing time. Diane was great to answer questions timely. We had 2nd Generations of family here for a Year Number 34 Fishing Trip. Many fun times. The Lakes water level was low due to the hot Summer and Little Rain, but we made the best of it. Would recommend this Lake Front home and would come back again.Thank You Diane for loaning us your Vacation Home.Sincerely the Gilday Family

Great House!

Awesome house, my entire family had a great time :) The house is even better than pictured and watching the sunsets on the lake was magical. Just a thing to note, there is not a platform in the lake to jump off of and there was no body wash

ADK vacation dream

We had another great stay with Diane and already booked for next year. The house is well stocked, neighbors are friendly and the town is very charming.

Beat the heat

We stayed with 3 generations, 7 people total (including kids age 5 and 7). The location was perfect! Walkable to playscape and farmers market on Saturday morning, general store with pizza takeout literally 2 doors down. At the house we were able to swim, boat and have fires each night. We hit record high temps during our stay so we were so thankful to be staying right on the water. Plenty of room to spread out in the house. Super cool bar area and sun room. We would definitely stay again!

Great location, well equipped

Very nice house with tons of comfortable beds and seating, perfect for a large group. It has everything you need including kitchen stuff, laundry, an outdoor grill, fire pit, boat dock, row boat and a kayak (although we brought our own). Just supply your own sheets and towels.It’s very conveniently located for hiking and boating on several nearby lakes in addition to Algonquin Lake, which the cottage is on. After a day of adventure, we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit or on the large deck with a beautiful view of the lake.The only downside - a minor point - is that it’s a little tricky getting into a kayak. Normally I sit on the dock and slide my behind over into the boat, but this dock is much too high for that. And there’s no beach to launch from. Instead we just stepped into the water, which is only about two feet deep at the edge, and stepped into our boats. So not a big deal, but may be a little more challenging for some people.

Just what we needed

Amazing time on Lake Algonquin! Our stay was fantastic in this beautiful spacious house. We loved the location on the lake, the close proximity to the tennis/pickleball courts, stores, hiking trails etc. Diane was great to work with, I would definitely recommend this house to anyone!

THIS is the Place

Just got back and wow, what a fantastic place to have an Adirondack adventure. Beautiful house, better than described and in the photos, right on a small lake in a scenic little town. Sunsets over the mountains, campfires by the lake, jump right off the dock, kayaking, fishing, hiking trails nearby - this is the place to get away from it all. Went with my big family (me and wife, six kids ages 5 - 15), had some extended family come up for the day and we all agreed it was the best place we've ever rented. Diane was awesome to communicte with, very quick to respond and house is so well stocked. We loved the porch with the bar, the wrap-around deck, the bunk rooms, and just everything about it. 90 minutes from Albany but it's a whole other world. We're already looking forward to booking our next week there!

Perfect ADK home

We had the best week in this lovely home. Very clean, easy access, well stocked kitchen and friendly neighbors. Plenty of space to spread out for sleeping and hanging out. The dock was nice for our boat and for fishing. We loved our time here and have already booked for next year! Thanks again for an amazing week!

Nice lake mountain lookout property

Place is well sized for multiple families to gather for vacation/outings. It has nice wraparound deck with lookout to lake and mountain region. Also has screened room incase of some chillier nights. Close to other lakes/river streams/hiking fall views.

Peaceful Retreat

Such a wonderful place right on the lake. Literally! We enjoyed hanging out Lakeside having a fire in the fire pit and enjoying hearty meals inside the spacious house. Everything was wonderful! Plenty of space for a large family. We had six ladies having a girls time away! It’s definitely an area to explore nature as there’s not much around in terms of shopping or restaurants or anything like that. The Riverwalk was enjoyable, up on Rt 30 and we caught some waterfalls on Route 8 and also on Rt 30!. I highly recommend it for the nature lover, the fisher person, and just to hang out and have fun with some of your peeps !

Fall Getaway w/Friends

We had a lovely stay at this sweet spot in the ADK. The property is even better than the pics. It was clean, cozy, well stocked with all we needed for cooking, and we really appreciated it having all we needed to build a campfire too. Communication was very clear with notes around for reminders. It was just what this group of friends was hoping for! Thank you!

family getaway

11 of us stayed here again this summer- 4 generations actually! The location was convenient for us, the home had plenty of space and the access to the lake was perfect! Before we even left all of us were talking about returning next summer. Nothing but good things to say about this home and the owner.

Lake Vacation

Our stay was amazing, we were able to unwind and enjoy the the lake. As soon as we arrived my son who is 13 ran to the lake with his fishing pole and our 3 teenage girls jumped right in. Over our stay everyone fished, kayaked/canoed and swam. Fishing the lake gave us a variety of fish. At night we enjoyed marshmallows by the fire, played board games and a puzzle. The house was perfect for us, plenty of room. It was clean and well taken care of. The internet was not working when we first arrived but the Diane promptly responded to us regarding this. We came to disconnect. We give this place a 10/10. We hope to be back next year!

Beautiful lake house

The house is lovely and has room for a large group. We are four adults and appreciated having room to spread out. The kitchen has all of the amenities we needed and then some. We enjoyed family meals at the beautifully crafted dining table, canoeing on Lake Algonquin, a small bonfire near the lake, and the views from the decks.

Lake view

House on the lake with mountain views did not disappoint. Beautifully decorated with ADK touches. Bar with double refrigerators was a great hangout spot. Eagle, loons, fish present each day. Great kayak & canoe trip up the Sacandaga River. House offered anything you needed, just bring provisions. Upstairs bedrooms get a bit toasty, bring fans. The plastic campfire chairs not strong, so be careful.

Don’t believe the pictures… it’s better!

This home on the lake is just that, a home. The interior is decorated beautifully with amazing woodwork throughout giving it a cozy cottage feel. The view of the lake is breathtaking. I wish the weather was warmer so we could enjoy the water. We stayed here for a family wedding and this place was voted the best after everyone visited all of the other rental places. You can’t go wrong staying here.
