About this property

Short walk to Long Sands, recently updated, walk to restaurants

The cottage is a short stroll (.2 miles) to Long Sands Beach. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck while you listen to the sounds of the ocean a few blocks away. In 2018 the Main(e) cottage was updated with new appliances, furnishings, paint, vaulted living room with exposed beam, lighting, new exterior decking, and enclosed outdoor shower. In 2023 cottage was renovated including new windows, kitchen and bathroom shower stall.

The Main(e) cottage has 2 Bedrooms, (1 Queen and 1 twin over full bunk bed) It also includes off-street parking for 2 cars ( front to back) in a shared driveway, cable TV, WIFI, DVD, books, board games, puzzles, movies, enclosed outdoor shower ( hot/cold water), gas grill and lawn games (bocce, checkers, Jenga, connect four) The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, toaster, microwave, rice cooker, refrigerator, stove, pots ( including lobster) and pans.

Also included, a beach cart, beach chairs (for adults & kids) sand pails, and shovels. Beach games.

The cottage is near the southern end of the beach. It's a 5-minute walk to the water. Once there you can see views of the Nubble and Boon Island off in the distance.

Looking to get to short sands? walk or ride your bikes the beautiful 2 miles along the water

Bring your bikes and explore York Harbor. (1.5 miles away)

The cottage comes with pillows and coverlets on the beds, but bed and bath linens are not provided.

We love spending time at our cottage and want you to enjoy it as much as we do:)

We own a second cottage on the property which we occasionally use. You may see us on our patio or going to and from our cars or taking our dog for a walk. There is a chance we may never cross paths.

But most important is you enjoying your vacation. We are always respectful of you and are mindful of your privacy.

We’ve stayed at this property multiple times and it never disappoints! The property is clean, cozy, and has all of the amenities you need. You also can’t beat the proximity to the beach! We can’t wait to go back.

Great family cottage

Super cute cottage close to the beach

I found a last minute deal with this cottage, and the owner was extremely easy and very responsive when arriving early the cottage was already everything was clean and better than the pictures. The outdoor shower was great. I would definitely recommend this cottage and come back again.

Fun at York

We loved this property! It was our third time staying and it continues to bring out family joy. The size is perfect for a family of 4 and we appreciate all of the added amenities. Highly recommend!

Long Sands

The property is amazing-like a home away from home. The 5 minute walk to the beach is ideal. We like being on the quieter end of Long Sands. The grill, table and chairs on the patio make it easy to enjoy the outdoors. You can hear the ocean outside. The cottage is very comfortable and enjoyable.

Adorable clean renovated cottage near Long Sands

We loved our stay at this beautifully renovated cottage. Carrie has thought of everything you could need! It was so nice to have beach chairs, toys, and games to borrow and not worry about bringing them from home. Carrie helped us find a kid friendly restaurant our first night and was pleasantly accessible throughout our trip. We highly recommend staying here and hope to again next year!

Main(e) Cottage

This was our second time renting this cozy cottage. We love the quiet neighborhood and the quick (under 5 minutes) walk to Long Sands beach. The cottage is neat and clean with a deck and grill, so meals were a snap. The owners are very thoughtful and responsive if anything comes up. We look forward to returning next year.

Perfect

I rented this cabin for my sister and our kids. It was so cozy and the perfect place to relax between our day adventures at the beach,dinner, and the wiggly bridge. They have a ton of books, games, outdoor space as well as outdoor games and beach gear! The information binder is the cutest but also so informative for local attractions. We look forward to coming back.

Charming cottage

A sweet place full of perfect touches. Minor glitches are inevitable anywhere but the host is responsive and respectful. A rainy weekend was made enjoyable in large part because of the warmth and comfort of this cottage. Will happily recommend.

Perfect cottage close to the beach

Family vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! John and Carrie have thought of everything- toys, books, kids plates and silverware, even outlet covers for our baby! The decor is beautiful and everything is clean. I was most grateful that the beds were comfortable! Any questions we thought of were answered in the very detailed welcome book, super helpful!We loved the location, a short walk to the beach and a few restaurants. Great area and great neighbors! Quick drive to area attractions and shops. Thanks again!!

Great location, Awesome deck!

We loved our stay in York. My family lives nearby, but I haven’t stayed in a cabin in York since my childhood. The cabin was clean, the kitchen well stocked, and the back deck was great! My only issue, which was my fault, was that I didn’t realize there was no washer/dryer. Looking back I see it wasn’t listed in amenities. I would book this place again, just pack differently next time to avoid three trips to a laundromat.
