Very private 3 bedroom, 2 bath home situated on a 1.5 acre lot on historic Mobile Bay. The gourmet kitchen includes a gas stove and built-in ice maker. The living areas open on to a sun deck with outdoor shower and a covered 50ft. screened-in gallery which is great for relaxing after a day on the beach. There is also a covered gazebo and 150 ft. pier on the Bay for fishing and crabbing or just watching the spectacular sunsets!
Retired consultant with vacation rentals in Ft. Morgan Alabama and Holmes Beach Florida.
Sharon Harvill purchased this house in 1997
Ft. Morgan remains 'the way the beach used to be before the advent of high-rise condo's.
Very private home with spectacular views.
We enjoyed our stay and will return. We caught several fish from the dock, including red fish. We caught crabs in the traps that were at the house, and the kids had a great time. There is alot of privacy from the road at the house with natural shrubs and that was nice too.
This was our second time visiting this wonderful area and beautiful home . Sharon is an absolute delight to deal with . The sunrise and sunsets on the bay are out of this world!! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for peace and quiet time!
My family loved this house! No one wanted to leave. Sharon was very helpful and the house was clean, cozy and well maintained. The Bay beach access isn't much and the kids (12, 11 and 10) did not swim there at all. They did however play on the docks for hours and since the dock is in shallow water, they jumped off and used the beach access to get back on the dock. They also caught hermit crabs on the bay beach. I think the bay beach would work for younger kids but my crazy preteens wanted big waves.
We caught blue crabs from the dock and also did some fishing from the dock. No luck at the fishing but I think our bait was too big for the shallow water fish (lots of hits and nibbles on the bait but we didn't actually reel anything in).
We drove the car over to the Gulf side (very quick little drive across the highway) and would stay there for the afternoon every day. You just have to find the "water access" sign and park along the street, simple.
The view is beautiful and my husband and I spent most all our time on the screened porch.
Sassy Bass is a great little seafood joint just down the road. Also, don't miss the opportunity to check out Fort Morgan (the actual Fort).
It was a wonderful week for my family. Thank you to Sharon and Bill for sharing their beach cottage.
We enjoyed a very relaxing week in this wonderful home. Fishing and crabbing for the boys and the beach for the girls, perfect!
Just returned from a wonderful week spent with friends at this lovely property. The view of the bay is beautiful. We practically lived on the screened porch! Coffee in the morning watching the sunrise and dined by candlelight at night. The kitchen is very well furnished with everything you could possibly need. Sharon was very easy to work with and always very prompt to respond.
Thanks to Bill and Sharon for sharing your lovely home.
What a wonderful property! When we all walked in the first time, all we could all say is WOW!! Breathtaking view of the Bay. The screened in porch was our favorite spot all week. The furniture and beds were all very comfortable. It was very clean and ready for us. Great kitchen and grill. The dock was terrific and they even had a sandy beach. The owners were so easy to work with.
House is very private and is located directly on Mobile Bay. The Gulf beaches are across the street (approx. 1 block).
