About Carolyn

My husband, Terry, and I relocated to Estes Park CO from Kansas City MO in 2008 and we love it here! (and we do still miss KC BBQ and the awesome live blues bands...) We have three sons with our youngest in his senior year in college. It's been great living in a smaller town and we love walking anywhere and everywhere from our property.

Terry played baseball four years at the University of Oklahoma and continued playing for nine years professionally. He retired as a Parks Director when we moved to Estes Park and has managed our cottages full time. I'm a former IBM executive and retired in Feb 2015 to focus exclusively on the cottages (wahoo!)

Carolyn purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Carolyn chose Estes Park

Estes Park is a wonderful vacation area! There are so many fun activities and the mountain views are amazing. We've been here five years and I am still in awe of the beautiful mountains and the fresh, crisp mountain air.

What makes this cottage unique

Gorgeous 360 degree views, easy walk to downtown for shopping, dining, river walk and ice cream!

We live on-site at the back of the property which is a nice benefit for our traveler's security and immediate support when needed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was a great base camp to explore RMNP and Estes Park. Access to the park by day and a easy walk into downtown at night. Accommodations were perfect. Nothing was lacking. Easy check-in and out. Particularly enjoyed the parade of elk in the evening.

Quick get away

  • 5 of 5

This was all I could ask for and more. It was clean and comfortable and just as described. I had a little problem with road access but once I figured it out it was as they had explained. We so enjoyed sitting on the deck after dark and watching the stars. Would definitely stay there again.

Cozy place for a winter stay!

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying here for our 5th year anniversary. The cabin was very clean, cozy and in a perfect location for some holiday shopping (just a minute from main street!) Owners were very accommodating, and shoveled our deck and drive before we were even up! We visited the nearby Twin Owls restaurant and looooved it. Only a few things were out of place: the bathroom has a thermostat that turned on a loud fan at 5AM...took us a while to figure out how to shut it off! There was also no lotion in the bathroom, and no silverware for the bowls in the kitchen, but other than that, we loved it! We will definitely stay again.

Cute and Comfortable Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 month old. We loved this cabin and can't wait to return. Excellent location. Quiet, even with close neighbors, and deer in yard every day. We were here to relax - no roughing it. Walked into town for dinner and drinks, brought wine to cabin (they have glasses) and slept in an awesome king bed! We drove to RMNP for a little hiking. Would definitely stay here again!
