Fantastic Whale's Tail View, Private, Modern Villa with Pool & River Access

Hosting David and Jen and their kids for the holiday was a pleasure. They were familiar with Uvita and the surrounding mountain areas so that was very helpful when assuring they were prepped for their arrival. Our exchanges before their stay were super easy and I was happy to help with suggestions for dining and outings. I'm thrilled they enjoyed their stay. We would love to host them again!

Wow! You and your family really got lucky during your week with the monkey sightings! We consider them to be our daily alarm clock while not always getting to see them from the house. On our last trip we were fortunate to have them overhead while at the swimming hole and were able to follow them up the path on our way back to the house, they had three babies with them so it was extra special! I'm so happy to hear that the house worked out for your family! We love it ourselves and made design touches like the boys' room with the bunk wall thinking of ours as well as other families that might get to enjoy it. Thank you for your lovely words, Monica! I fell in love with the property from the first moment I visited. If you can imagine, the drive was unpaved, the main building site where the main house sits now was prepped but other than that the land was bare. The waterfall, view and location at the end of the road were what sealed the deal in my mind. We've continued to enjoy our visits for the the last 9 years after the build was complete. It always provides a much needed respite for us coming from Los Angeles. We leave energized by the nature and the people that Costa Rica has to offer. Safe travels and you're welcome any time. Wow! Thank you so much for your detailed review, Craig! I'm happy to hear that with the car exchange on day two you managed to avoid divorce! All joking aside, I generally rent a Mitsubishi Montero Sport or similar myself for the cars' height and stronger engine in 4-wheel drive for the steep parts. If you can imagine I cut my teeth in off roading when we were building the house, without the cement tracks during rainy season, it was something! I'm working with my managers to come up with a better description of the drive and car suggestions as to better prepare future guests while not scaring them too much.. I love that you got to see all of the animals you described, especially the Basilisk Lizard, we've seen them but never on the pool. You got to do some our favorite activities, next time you'll have to try zip-lining and maybe a kayak trip. I will try to fit in your suggestion of an eye-mask for late risers, I'm an early bird myself and the early sunrise helps our family make the most of every minute when we're staying at the house. I'm so happy that you and your family enjoyed your trip to Costa Rica, it has been and continues to be a special place for our family! Pura Vida Dawn

Thank you so much for your lovely words, Chris! We began traveling to Costa Rica as a family back in 2007. We visited a couple more times and fell in love with the country and all it has to offer. When we happened upon the property, so many things about it convinced us it was the one and after careful consideration, we designed the homes and completed their build. Each year, we've added improvements... various improvements to the private drive, the plunge pool after three years, followed by the "rancho" poolside the year after, and finally the yoga/view deck above the main house in March 2021 when the country re-opened during the pandemic. It truly is a small paradise and we're humble to share it with others. Pura Vida Dawn

Thank you for the lovely review, Jessica! I'm thrilled that your family enjoyed their stay at the Morpho. It holds a special place in our hearts, we fell in love with the country back in 2007. We are absolutely in love with the sites and sounds of nature the home affords to guests. All your comments regarding the weather, breezes, temperatures at the house were spot on. We've generally been lucky ourselves even in the hottest part of the dry season. I was happy to help with the extra fans. I'll keep your suggestions in mind regarding the laundry service and how we can improve upon this aspect, it's been a challenge deciding how to approach the subject for me. The service I've offered over the years, was put in place to help maintain the operating life of the appliances. Myself and Francini, the caretaker's wife are the only people wo've operated the laundry room over the five year period of hosting guests. We've found over the years that 2x washing per week usually works out well, in some instances, guests have required a bit more. When we began traveling to the country with our boys, ages 3 1/2 & 6 years old back in 2007, a number of places didn't have onsite options. We found that most small towns had services offered privately by townspeople, where you paid by the kilo of laundry. It was definitely interesting for us those first times! Thanks again!
