The house is in very bad need of repair. The ac for some reason needs to be set to 72 and no lower which is ridiculous. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and they are keeping the refrigerator at an unsafe temp. Thankfully we noticed things weren’t as cold as they should be. You can find better places for the same price or better. I prefer to not be uncomfortable when on vacation. One perk was a great beach location and ease to the beach. It was very quiet and calm

Great little place place right in the beach. Plenty of room. Super quiet neighborhood. Easy access to everything there in Folly beach. Host was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with although I didn’t need anything while I was there. Definitely would stay here again.

I stayed here last year and really loved it so thought I’d stay again. It’s amazing how in a period of one year things can really become noticeable. It’s hard to upkeep a beach house. The items falling apart in this house are borderline dangerous— floors are uneven due to buckling and are trip hazards— nails are popping out of the deck and stairs. Cabinet drawers in kitchen get stuck. Eventhe walls are lumpy.For whatever reason the full length mirrors were removed. It’s a lovely place. It just needs an overhaul— the yard also is full of plants with thorns that all needs to be cleaned up as well. The price is high for something in this much disrepair. I do love how they have kept the natural dune plants in place but just trimming around them so they won’t be stepped on and cleaning up underneath the house which is full of stuff that people have left —although thank you to those people who left stuff and I was able to use a chair. For the price also, waiting till 4 PM to get in the house is ridiculous and then having to be out by 10 you basically steal a day from the customer

The location was great, but the house is somewhat tired, although cute-ish. The total back deck needs to be redone --you must wear shoes to be out there. After I specifically (prior to arriving) asked about the grill, we arrived ready to put steaks on for dinner, only to find the grill rusted out inside and no propane. After wasting a lot of time trying to communicate with the host and waiting for responses , it took 3 days to have a new grill delivered. new grill was great.All in all we had a good time, with perfect weather.

Fun at Folly

This is a very comfortable beachfront home, with direct beach access. It has all you need to relax, make a meal and to entertain guests... in fact we celebrated my wife's birthday during our stay. Close enough to Charleston's attractions and Kiawah Island to explore or just have beach day. Great stay!

Great location .

Great location. Easy access to town, and to grocery store. Unfortunately, we came on a week where the weather was really crummy. So we stayed inside and watched the wind, the rain, and the waves.

folly drifter

clean .bed with bathroom attached good but small bedrooms and both bathrooms very tiny...but "newly remodeled"?? painted yes kitchen cabinets old ....pots /pans very scratched garbage disposal not working, also very dark in driveway , need some type of lites along driveway so when you drive in you can see . my first look at rentals is it clean This rental is but because its location is awesome , guess the inside is not a wow...we pd a lot of money for a 4 nite stay in endof nov to dec 2 ...it was our anniversary beach view gorgeous , house just ok

Good location

When we arrived, we saw that the one lamp in the master bedroom had no switch. You had to turn it off and on by unplugging and plugging. There is a table/bookcase as you enter that the second shelf is broken. It does seem that as much as these houses cost per night, that someone would check to make sure that things are working and not broken.

Location is perfect!!!

The location of this house is perfect! It’s away from all the busy parts of folly, and you have plently of beach area to let kids play and feel safe with minimal folks around. (We stayed July 4th week) The house is not fancy. There are a lot of upgrades needed, but overall it was perfect for a week long vacation with a family that had more kids than adults. We had some issues with the plumbing and someone came out right away. There was a miscommunication about delivery of a new sofa sleeper and once we finally did get one, the property manager even gave us a tiny refund for our bed shortage. You have to use the public beach access to get to the beach but you have a private gate that connects right to a shower to rinse your feet before you head upstairs. That was very convenient. The house was quite affordable for an ocean front and the views each morning were worth every penny!

Renter beware! If you still have time to cancel, do so! This property was not as described. Newly remodeled; not so much. In addition to the lack of pride in ownership and upkeep, the property was filthy and in disrepair. The filth was not from the previous renters, but "old dirt" that has built up over time. The contact was made aware of the issues and my displeasure and the response was "sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the property, would you like the housekeepers to return?" Completely ignored the fact that the property was not as advertised. The decks and stairs are in disrepair, with nail pops and mismatched decking in the back. There were numerous notes that the AC could not operate below 72 degrees with threats that it would ice up and we would be charged. They installed a small window AC to supplement. While I understand that they want to reduce electrical costs, maybe they should install a unit that can cool the entire house; the primary bedroom was the warmest room in the house, even with the vents closed in the other rooms. The house was musty and damp, to the point that we had to purchase damp-rid and air fresheners to combat the odor. The dryer, while working, is so loud that they put up a sign to say so and suggest you close the door when running it. A sure sign that they are aware of the issue and are "taking the cheap way out" and failing to invest in the disrepair. As I shared with Vacasa; I could not be more disappointed in the misrepresentation.
