Two bedroom cottage has a queen bed in each bedroom and a futon sleeper in the living room. Tastefully furnished in lodge log decor with a free standing gas fireplace stove in the living room. Full bathroom with shower only. Through the wall air conditioning, cable TV, and wifi for your comfort and relaxation. All bedding, linens, and towels are provided. The full size kitchen comes with a stove/range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. It is equipped for basic cooking and eating. Outside on the patio is a gas grill, picnic table, and patio chairs for your evening bar-b-q. The cottages set in a park like setting with mature trees, and lots of lush lawn. Just a short walk to the paved bike path or to the lake for some recreation.
Located by beautiful Canyon Lake in Rapid City just thirty minutes from Mt Rushmore. Easy access to all Black Hills area attractions. Most attractions including Mt Rushmore are 30 minutes or less.
Bring your bikes, walking shoes, or roller blades and enjoy the great paved bike trail that goes for miles along Rapid Creek. Trout fishing in both the Creek and the lake. Paddle boats are available for rent to mingle with the ducks and geese on the lake. Playgrounds for the kids and best of all, mosquitoes are not a problem. Bike rentals to enjoy the miles of paved bike paths around the lake and along the creek.

From the time we arrived and checked in with the hosts until the time that we left, we had a wonderful stay. The property was fantastic and the location was perfect.

We had an absolute fantastic trip to the Black Hills. The cabin location was central to all of our planned activities. The cabin was just as advertised and very clean. We enjoyed the wildlife at night and the kids loved walking the short distance to play in the stream. I would certainly recommend the cabins for your trip to Rapid City.

Awesome cabin!!!

The cabin was great! Very close to the lake. Great fishing. My family loved it! Communication was great and responses were quick. The only issue we had was the propane tank for the grill was empty; I called the front desk and they brought a full one to us within 5 minutes! This was an all-around great experience and we would definitly come back!

Stayed here as our base for visiting the Black Hills, Badlands, and Mt Rushmore. Visited Wall Drug on way to Badlands. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Beds slept well. The lake was pretty and walking trail nice around lake. Saw folks fishing in the lake also. The manager was very nice and accommodating with our late arrival and checked on us the next day.

We stayed 9 days and had a wonderful time. The cabin suited us perfectly. The only suggestion I have is I wish the cabin kitchen would have had a few bowls for mixing and maybe a serving spoon or two. We cooked almost all of our meals at the cabin and those were the only things we could have used. We had a great time and will return.

We loved the cabin we rented for the week! It was very clean, rustic, spacious and had lots of charm. Given that it had a refrigerator, oven and microwave we were able to eat all of our meals in the cabin. This was beneficial after spending every day hiking. The campground was very quiet and we had access to the lake and wonderful park. And the location was perfect - centrally located for day trips to Badlands, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Spearfish Canyon. If we visit the area again we will definitely stay at Canyon Lake Campground & Cottages!

Pictures are a bit deceiving

Location is right in Rapid City. No direct access to the river or lake. They are close by but really not part of the property. No place for a campfire. Cabbin was clean and cute. But the AC unit gave it a very musty smell. For someone with allergies it wasn’t great. 30 minutes from most attractions. Bathroom was a comical layout. We are pretty small people and it was tight. Overall was an okay stay. Probably would not go back unless updates were done or better kid friendly area was added.

Great Getaway

The cottages were perfect for us with an infant, parents and grandparents. Close to all attractions, and close to all amenities in town. We were able to run to the grocery store and eat all our dinners at the cottage using the grill and provided dishes ect. Staff was friendly, property was clean.

Affordable For Families Visiting Yellowstone

Overall, it is a very cute property. It does need some maintenance. The toaster handle was broken, the carpet needs replacing and the caulking in the upstairs shower needs to be replaced. Overall a very affordable place to stay compared to the hotels. Mattresses very comfortable!
