About Rhonda and Dennis
Rhonda (The Artist) and Dennis (The Jokester) have lived in Durango and the Mesa Verde National Park region for 30 & 46 years respectively. We happily enjoy sharing the history and local stories that will enhance your stay and will steer you in the right direction to make the most of your stay. Dennis will show you where to find the best mountain bike and jeeping/4wheel trails while Rhonda can guide you to the best trails for touring ancient ruins and artistic sites to photograph, paint or journal. We love enjoying local music, dancing and creative special events and will help you find the best restaurants, shows and events to make your visit memorable. Private Plein Air Painting Classes with Rhonda (Award Winning Artist) as your guide and instructor are available with prior arrival arrangements and separate fees. A truly special way to experience beautiful Colorado and have special art you create and take home with you! *Rhonda's painting "Spirits' View - from inside Long House Ruin" was featured on Mesa Verde National Park's Centennial website in 2006. This painting was only possible with special permission from the Park and a Ranger Guide as a work specially created for the Centennial Celebrations. Rhonda's dream opportunity!

We loved staying at the Luna Mesa casita. There are so many wonderful touches at the casita. You can tell Rhonda & Dennis value their guests comfort. It is very clean & comfortable. The views from the property are amazing. Plus it’s a short drive from the entrance to Mesa Verde. The hot tub provides relief after a day of driving or hiking. We would highly recommend the casita. We are planning to visit again.

Excellent attention to detail and quality
We wholeheartedly enjoyed our stay at the Luna Mesa Moon Dancer casita.
The attention to detail and quality is high - from the unique construction and design of the casita to its furnishings and decorations. For travelers who actually use a kitchen, we appreciated the quality of the kitchenware and little touches such as a supply of sandwich bags.
The location can’t be beat. It’s on the doorstep of Mesa Verde National Park which made for easy exploring of the park as well forays to other four corner's sites. The setting itself is calm and peaceful and quiet.
The loft was unique. It felt like being in a tree house. We opened the windows at the head of the bed, smelled the high desert after a brief rain shower, and turned to gaze upon the bright stars... and relaxed.
If in the area again we would be disappointed if we couldn’t stay at the casita.
