Our newly constructed, 1,400-square-foot cottage combines modern design, thoughtful details, and a surprisingly spacious layout. One of my favorite things about the home is how efficiently it uses its footprint. Every square foot has been designed with comfort and livability in mind, creating a space that feels much larger than you might expect.
The main floor features soaring 10-foot ceilings, an open-concept living area, and large windows that fill the space with natural light. The airy layout makes it easy to relax, cook, dine, or spend time together without ever feeling cramped. A modern kitchen, comfortable living area, large 75-inch TV, and sleek electric fireplace make the space equally inviting for quiet evenings and entertaining.
Upstairs, you'll find two generously sized bedrooms, each featuring a comfortable king-size bed. Unlike many smaller vacation rentals, neither bedroom feels like an afterthought. Both offer plenty of room to spread out, unpack, and settle in. With two full bathrooms upstairs and a convenient half bath on the main level, the home is especially well suited for two couples, friends traveling together, or families who appreciate a little extra privacy.
The home also includes modern conveniences like central heating and air conditioning, an in-unit washer and dryer, stainless steel appliances, and thoughtful touches throughout.
What I love most is that the cottage offers the comfort and functionality of a much larger home without the unnecessary space. It's modern, cozy, and exceptionally livable—a welcoming place to unwind after exploring Portland.
