The seasonal Sandy Harbor Water Park features the Adventure River, Splash Zone children`s play area, The Tube slide, Drop Zone four-lane mat racer, and Tad Pool for younger children. Ocean Lakes also offers the Sandy Harbor Game Center and Recreation Center.

Important Ocean Lakes 2026–2027 Update

Ocean Lakes is currently making major improvements to Sandy Harbor.

The original indoor pool, original outdoor pool, and Sandy Harbor Mini Golf closed September 8, 2026 for construction. The new facilities are targeted to open around Memorial Day weekend 2027.

The expansion is planned to include a new resort-style outdoor pool with private cabanas, a much larger indoor pool, children`s splash pool and aquatic play area, two indoor body slides, expanded Game Center space, and new food service. During construction, the Adventure River is being used as a pool alternative when weather and construction conditions allow.

The separate Sandy Harbor Water Park continues to operate seasonally, so guests should check Ocean Lakes` current schedules when planning their stay.

Ocean Lakes is a complete vacation destination. The Sandy Harbor family fun center has the “Splash Zone” water park with slides and lazy river and game center that kids always love. The Nature Center can provide learning during your vacation. There are several playgrounds near the beach, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool for year round enjoyment, a convenience store, Sandy’s Meet and Eat restaurant, the Sandy Harbor cafe, and the “snack shak” to grab a bite.

Ocean Lakes charges $15 per vehicle per day for parking. This must be paid directly to Ocean Lakes and is not included in our cost quote. Reservations made in advance can qualify for express check-in, save a few dollars and beat the lines on check-in day.

Ocean Lakes is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still, a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. Just a short drive north is all the attractions and shopping of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand shopping center, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, and one of the world’s largest Ferris wheels. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world’s largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden, it’s just a few minutes south.
