“Mama said we had to let those rooms out...”

-Forrest Gump

So we’re inviting you to enjoy our cabin as much as we do!

The Treehouse is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin nestled in the trees in the South Toe River Valley of Burnsville, NC just minutes from fresh water fishing, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Mount Mitchell Golf Course. Enjoy some of the best hiking, golfing, and scenery in Western North Carolina. Of course, there’s also a lot to be said for porch sitting, and relaxing at night by a crackling fire. Luckily, we have that too!

Staying at the Treehouse has all the best aspects of staying in a cozy cabin in the woods, with all the conveniences you need to maintain the creature comforts of home. When you step out onto the oversized deck you are surrounded by the natural landscape of beautiful Western North Carolina, with no major roads, noisy neighbors or obstructive views, instantly drawing you into the sights, sounds, and smells (ahhh the smells) of the valley. Pour yourself a beer or glass of wine and grab an adirondack; you are staring at Mt. Mitchell, the tallest peak East of the Misssissippi River. Grill out and dine on the deck, when it cools down, cozy up in front of the stone fire place, and when you’re plum tuckered from too much fun & relaxation, snuggle into some of the comfiest bedding you’ve ever slept in; there’s no night’s sleep like a night sleeping in the Mountains. On a morning or evening walk it’s not uncommon to see deer in the meadow right above the property, and of course, we’re only a hop from the Golf Course, a skip from the beautiful South Toe River (complete with numerous waterfalls), and a jump from the amazing Blue Ridge Parkway!

Asheville is only an hour away with some of the most amazing restaurants, breweries and live music as well as the Biltmore House and the Grove Park Inn.

About James McKeever

Welcome to our Treehouse! We are James & Cameron McKeever. We live full time in Dunedin, Florida, a small coastal city on the West coast of Florida near the Clearwater Beach area. Throughout our travels of the US, we have discovered and hold true to the belief that these are the best two places a person can possibly find! We try to spend as much time at the Treehouse as we can, and it is truly our second home, not just a rental. We only hope you enjoy staying in our home as much as we do!

James McKeever purchased this cabin in 2005

Why James McKeever chose Burnsville

We found the Treehouse while visiting the area with a friend who also had property in the South Toe River Valley. Out of the five or six properties we looked at, this was the first and only I (Cameron) needed to see. When we walked in, it felt exactly like my Grandfather’s cabin we used to stay in growing up as a kid. We had the greatest memories of that little cabin in the woods, and couldn’t wait to make our own. With James surrendering to the fact that there’s simply no competition for fond memories, we bought it in 2005, and over the past several years not only have we put our blood, sweat, tears and hearts into it (we just call it ‘good mojo’), but we have fallen head over heels in love with the South Toe Valley, and Asheville. Leaving is always a heartbreak.

What makes this cabin unique

House is away from road and private with huge open deck nestled in the trees, and view of Mount Mitchell. Inside amenities include new appliances, new HVAC, new bedding & new fireplace. Open living room with wall of windows brings the outside in. Feels like a cozy cabin in the woods but with all the modern conveniences.

Cozy with gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Treehouse. The views are gorgeous and the beds are comfy. The kitchen is small but very efficient. We pulled off a great Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings in the small kitchen. The kitchen had plenty of pots ,dishes, glasses and cooking utensils. We loved the gated deck for our dog. Nice outdoor seating on the deck. The fireplace was used everyday and the sofa and chairs were very comfortable. We totally enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse.

Pleasant, Relaxing, Scenic

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed beautiful and colorful scenery all from the deck of this relaxing cabin. The weather was cold but clear at this well appointed cabin where we played cards and board games. Look forward to returning.

Quiet! Private! And Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking for a quiet getaway for my parents and found the Cozy Treehouse. The reviews were great and we thought we would give it a try.

So glad we did! James & his wife were so easy to work with. Instructions were simple and booking was easy. The view is absolutely beautiful!! We were there in October and the fall color was spectacular! The cabin has everything you need and the beds are very comfortable. We used the outdoor grill once for a picnic on the cabin deck. It was so nice!

The only drawback that I want to mention is that you are about 20-25 minutes or so from the nearest store or restaurant . But for us, this wasn't a problem and well worth the Quietness. There are many good restaurants in the area also. Our favorite was Bubba's Barbecue. They have much more than barbecue and the service and food is fantastic! We hope to make it back to this area again and look forward to another stay at Cozy Treehouse.

Wonderful time at the Treehouse!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the Treehouse. Everything was clean and the cabin was secluded and quiet. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to staying again sometime. The McKeever's were wonderful and provided lots of useful info for the cabin and the area.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in this cabin. The view is gorgeous and there are plenty of seating areas to enjoy it.

We found it to be very quiet and private. Perfect cool crisp air to get a break from the hot Florida summer.

There are also so many beautiful areas nearby to explore and plenty of wildlife too.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We enjoyed it very much !
