This rustic and secluded Pacific northwest retreat is set on the edge of 300 miles of woods and right off the famous Pacific Crest Trail, offering a comfortable and relaxing getaway for your next Cascade vacation. Dogs are allowed, too!
Explore the Cascade Locks wilderness, see the Bridge of the Gods, or hike the Pacific Crest Trail. You can picnic at the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area after a day windsurfing. Launch your boat, or take a stroll in town. If you're an avid cyclists, visit the Cascade-to-Crown Bicycle Ride. Outdoor lovers and city slickers alike will find serenity here.
At the single level, two bedroom cabin, Big Ed the wooden bear will welcome you. Feel free to indulge in the 32" flatscreen TV with DVD. Grab a book to read quietly or converse with your travel partners over what exciting adventures you have planned.
Head into the compact, yet well-stocked, kitchen where you'll find all the everything you need to fix a family meal, just supply your favorite foods. The wooden dining table is set for four, yet offers additional chairs to seat eight.
In the back bedroom you'll find a king bed, and in the front room are two twins. Kids may like slumbering in the living room with the queen-sized sofa bed. In the colder winter months, keep cozy with the electric heater or electric blanket provided, although the central heating should keep you plenty warm. The full bathroom includes grab bars for those who need a little mobile assistance. Altogether, the home can sleep six comfortably.
An energy-efficient washer and dryer will help keep up with the laundry, and the utility room in the back of the house could act as a great boot storage space as well. This home is also dog friendly, and you're welcome to bring your canine friends with you for an additional pet fee.
Cascade Locks is the lowest point on the Pacific Crest Trails, and each August the city hosts a fundraiser for the trail on Thunder Island in the Columbia. If you're around in November, kick-start your holiday spirit with the annual "Lighting of the Bridge," when the structure is decked out in its holiday garb. In December, the city finishes its Christmas decorating with its "Festival of Light."
Don't wait another moment away from the beauty of the Cascade Locks. Make this cabin your next escape!

Good place to enjoy hiking
If trails had not been closed due to the fires.... would have been great
Pacific Crest trails closed
This was my second time at this property. Unfortunately this time the Pacific Crest trail that is located only a block from the property was closed. Many of the trails around the area were also closed. I was disappointed that I was unable to enjoy hiking around the George area. The main reason I chose this property was its location to the Pacific Crest Trail... the main goal of my stay was hiking. The house has seen improvements since my previous stay... the floor (except for the bed rooms) had been replaced and was beautiful. The mildew smell was gone. The house was clean. I was suppose to have access to the house at 4 pm... when I arrived at 4 pm they were still cleaning it. I came back at 4:30 and the cleaning crew was just pulling out of the driveway. I did leave a day early since I could not do the hiking I wanted to do. The front door was difficult to lock!! I was under the impression there was an extra key for the door in the back of the house, but if there was I was unable to find it. Would be nice if the front door was replaced with something that locks easily and has the same key as back door and internet and/or cable. However there was a good selection of movies. I'll have to remember to bring a few of my own next time. Also would have been nice if there was a coffee grinder (there were coffee beans, but no way to grind them), and a few cooking essentials like PAM cooking spray or butter, and maybe a few condiments. So bring anything you need to cook what you want to eat. There is no dishwasher... so be prepared to clean your dishes by hand. Rain gutter needs to be repaired immediately as the water spills on to the back porch and leaks into the house. I do plan on staying again, and hopefully the trails will be open next time. I very enjoyed my stay and plan to return! Thank You
Quiet, CHARMING and quaint cottage style.
I will be coming back. Beautiful surrounding, charming home. Lacks a properly working can opener. Beds are comfortable and lots of extra linens. My only turn off is the lack of dusting around, not just table tops. However, that's no biggie, I will be back.

The home was cute but very unclean! When we arrived we found mice droppings in several beds and on the floor. We also found two dead mice, several spiders, and lots of cobwebs.
Local staff have been alerted regarding the mice. They are common this time of year as the weather changes, and we will get right on making sure they are not present in the home. We will also follow-up with housekeeping regarding our cleaning standards. This guest was refunded their cleaning fee for the state of the home. Thank you!
Great Clean 2 Bedroom with great Kitchen. I'd stay again for sure. Thank you!
