We really enjoyed our stay. Hukilau is my favorite beach in Laie and we were so excited to stay in a place that was right on the beach. Robyn was so accommodating and easy to work with. The unit is well equipped with everything you need....from the kitchen, to the beach! This unit had it all. The beds were comfortable, there are plenty of fans and a air conditioner in the living room so we didn't get too hot. Hawaii can be hot and muggy this time of year...we didn't have a problem. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Robyn!
Good location for the North Shore if you wanted to explore different beaches and areas. Close to the Polynesian cultural Center, foodland, a few good places to eat. We picked Laie because we didn't want too many tourists, like Waikiki. Laie has a cool vibe with the university there, there's lots of young adults around. Lindsay took care of us while her parents were away and she was great; gave some good tips and her kids were adorable (and actually pretty quiet, for those wondering). I appreciated the little things like cooking utensils and some extra cooking stuff like oil and coffee creamer. We would stay here again for sure.
As first time visitors to Hawaii and maybe the biggest trip i'v planned for my family, i was skeptical about booking online and very anxious for the arrival to the Hukilau Beach home as i didn't really know what to expect. Well... All transactions were held very professionally. We were very pleased with our stay, the home was well furnished, comfortable, with spectacular views to the beach and picturesque mountain views. Great place to bring your family, though Ms Robyn was not there to greet us her daughter Lindsey was. I would definitely recommend this hidden jewel to anyone wanting a peaceful vacation with all amenities available.
Thank you for being such a great host Lindsey.
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is connected to their house. They were super nice even tho we really never saw them much. It was clean, nice and roomy. (We had 5 people) The beach was right out the back door and it was a beautiful clean beach. You can also see the Laie Temple from the apartment. They provided beach towels and body boards. There is a foodland grocery store within 2-3 blocks. It is a good central place for any of your activities while on Oahu
My husband and I really loved staying here. The location is perfect if you're exploring the North Shore (the best part of Oahu). And don't forget the beautiful beach that is literally in the back yard. Some days we had the beach completely to ourselves! This rental is minutes away from restaurants, shopping, groceries, Laie Point, golf, the PCC, snorkeling and so many beautiful beaches.
The rental itself is very clean. The furniture and bed were very comfortable. They also have ceiling fans in the kitchen, bedrooms and living room, which made the temperature very comfortable. They also recently installed a whole home fan, which pulls in air from open windows and creates a nice breeze...we never had to turn on the air conditioning!
In terms of highway noise, yes it was loud. However we slept with the windows open (which made it noisier), but we slept so good...I think because we were extremely tired from doing touristy stuff all day! We did bring earplugs to help us sleep thru the noise, but we never ended up using them. Be sure to bring them if you're a light sleeper. There was also some occasional noise from the next door neighbors at night, but it didn't keep us up.
Overall, if you're expecting a 5 star hotel, you should probably just stay at a 5 star hotel :) Stay here if you're looking for a clean, comfortable rental, with a great location. It's nothing fancy, but my husband and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for letting us stay!
We enjoyed most of a week at Ned and Robyn's perfectly located apartment. It really is just steps from a perfect beach. The beach is a great combination of enough waves to boogie board on with out being overpowering for mainlanders. Robyn and family make you feel right at home. Everything you need is provided including the boogie boards and beach towels. Their property is perfectly manicured. We needed to adjust our reservation after we got there and Robyn did so with no problems even though she wouldn't have had to. Thanks so much Robyn for a wonderful stay! We highly recommend this spot!
The Polynesian Cultural Center and BYU-H are located 1 mile away. The North Shore is located 7 miles away with fantastic waves, swimming, snorkeling, and whale and turtle watching. You can walk on the reef to Goat Island by walking 5 minutes up the beach.
