Kenikee represents a modern replication of the typical 'Adirondack camp' on Lake George of 100 years ago with all of the modern conveniences of this era. Set on the shore of Lake George among pine, hemlock, cedar and birch with a spectacular view of the lake, Rogers' Rock and the Adirondack Mountains behind, this is the perfect site to soak-up the wonderful days and evening sunsets that the region is known for. The renter has the option of renting 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, or 5 bedrooms and 3 baths (be sure to contact owner directly for pricing on this option, as well as the option of linen service.) A spacious kitchen with all that one needs, a large dining room 'porch' and activity room with wrap around windows; a 29 X 13 living room with three French doors to the deck for enjoying the views, sights and sounds of the lake. The dock is perfect for enjoying the lake with the bottom sloping gently from 6 in to 3 feet at the dock's end on one side and mooring a boat up to 21 ft. on the other. A large picnic table, gas grill and fire pit with an abundance of Adirondack chairs make the shore area perfect for family activities.
Close by are Fort Ticonderoga and Gardens;, Mount Defiance with panoramic views of the Champlain Valley and Vermont; The Ticonderoga Country Club, a beautiful and challenging fee-based golf club with Emeralds Restaurant; Snug Harbor Marina for boat rentals. Year Purchased: 1949
About: Our family has been vacationing on Black Point Road for over 80 years, building first in the 50s, and replacing the original cottage in 1999, 50 years later for an expanding family, with a modern home but replicating much of the charm of an 'Adirondack Camp' of times gone by. Nestled in the pine/hemlock/birch with spectacular views, it is enjoyed now by the 4th generation. We would like you too, to enjoy this unique spot.
Why Putnam Station, NY, USA:
4 bedrooms and 2 baths (or as an option 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, contact owner for pricing as well as a linen option) give the renter a great deal of space and flexibility for their family or group. There are two living areas adjacent to one another (LR & DR) with an eight foot insulated glass slider, should some wish to have quiet time in the living room and board games or TV in the dining room yet maintaining a very open feeling throughout the cottage. Natural light floods the space. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking for a big group and there is plenty of eating space. The kitchen has a nice flow into either the dining room or living room. Option 1 (4 BR/2B) offers about 2400 sq ft on 2 floors and Option 2 (5 BR/3B) about 2750 sq ft on 3 floors. Air conditioning is available for the main floor and upper floor bedrooms. (The additional charge would need to be discussed with the owners.) The main floor entrance requires only two steps from your car, for groceries and luggage.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The front deck offers a nice place for morning coffee with the newspaper or a book. Adirondack chairs, picnic table, gas grill and firepit close to the lake keep everyone close by for many laughs and great pictures. Snug Harbor Marina a provider of many types of motor craft is 4 miles up the road toward Ti. Two Kayaks are provided for renters use
