About the host

Hosted by Peter Engel

Host profile image
Our family has been coming to Mount Desert and Acadia for over 60 years. I grew up exploring the tide pools and rocky shores, hiking the mountains, swimming in lakes & ocean, and loving the magic of Southwest Harbor. Now our grandchildren are doing the same! We hope you will enjoy this special place as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

The ocean view is always absorbing and ever changing with the play of tide, waves, light, and sky. Nights are dark with spectacular star gazing from horizon to horizon. We love the sound of waves and seabirds. Many an idle hour has been spent watching the parade of boats coming and going in the Western Way. Deer often wander right across your view from the picture window.

What makes this property unique

The perfect blend of simplicity and artistic charm.
