25 ACRES OF PRIVATE SOLITUDE. Close to Yosemite~Hot Tub

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,700 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

'Your home and hospitality for my best friends and I have been a slice of heaven. The solitude is a wonderful break from our hectic everyday lives.'

When you arrive at Wild Oak Farm you will leave the hustle and bustle of your daily life behind. The 700-foot long driveway leads you to the Tree House which is perched in the center of the 25 acre property. Enter the doorway under the house and ascend the spiral staircase into your vacation retreat. You will not be disappointed. The Tree House exemplifies rustic elegance; from the massive granite fireplace and incense-cedar trunk that are the centerpoints of the entire house, to the uncluttered, yet well-appointed bedrooms and full amenity kitchen.

The Tree House is a three bedroom, two bath house perfect for families and friends looking for the unique vacation home with lots of special touches. Each bedroom has views to the majestic old-growth oaks that forest the property. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and a sliding door that leads directly to the wrap-around deck. The Loft Room has a olympic queen-size bed on the main floor and a full-size bed in the sleeping loft (a kid favorite). The Triangle Room has a queen-size bed, and features local Yosemite art. The Tree House comfortably accommodates six adults and can accommodate more in the loft and the sleeper couch in the family room.

The house is wrapped by a wooden deck that provides views into the surrounding mountains. You can access the deck via the french-doors in the kitchen. The hammock on the slate back deck is a shady retreat in the summertime. The hot tub is a great place to unwind after hiking in Yosemite all day and has great views of the stars and surrounding mountains.

About Todd Bruno

I grew up on the rugged coast of Oregon and have always had an appreciation for the wonders of our planet. I have been a park ranger for over 20 years and spent 13 years working in beautiful Yosemite. Part of my joy in being a vacation rental owner/manager is listening to my guests and offering my knowledge of the park to suite their vacation plans.

Todd Bruno purchased this house in 1999

Why Todd Bruno chose Midpines

25 acres of privacy.........a custom home with a cedar tree inside!!! I immediately fell in love with this home. Over the years I have enjoyed putting in the outdoor solar shower, the hot tub and surrounding landscape and other projects. The architecture, the layout and the views both ground and inspire me. For many years my extended family and I have enjoyed our own holidays there, creating lasting memories.

What makes this house unique

Views of the seclusion, the awesome cedar tree and the great Mariposite granite fireplace. It's one of a kind!

Cozy charm and spaciousness

  • 5 of 5

This space was perfect for our party of 6 women to relax, connect, and unwind. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer! It was the perfect combination of comfort and hominess, blended with a bright and artistic style. I noticed that there are some new furniture pieces which make the space even more usable and comfortable. Location is also great: a run to the shops (including a natural food store!) in Mariposa takes 10 minutes and you couldn't be much closer to the park without being inside it. Be aware that the bedroom with the loft has minimal space for personal items -- this worked out fine for us for our weekend trip, but just noting it. We also loved spending time in the various outdoor seating areas and enjoying the natural scene. Thank you Todd for the ease and helpfulness in making this trip happen!

Incredible views and prime location just outside of Yosemite National Park

great cozy place with all the amenities needed for a retreat. Everything was well maintained and the place had a great open floor plan for making dinners and relaxing by the campfire, definitely plan on staying here again next time im in the area.

Add it to your Yosemite map!

  • 5 of 5

You might as well add this property to your Yosemite map! It is beautifully maintained and captures the essence of the area. Our family of five settled in right away and really enjoyed the comforts of the Tree House. The house has all the comforts of home and is very clean, clearly well maintained, and has an artfully rustic feel. Todd was very helpful when we asked for tips about the park, and there are a bunch of guides in the kitchen that he's kept over the years and marked up that will enhance your experience.

Our three kids each had their own bed (rock-paper-scissors for who got the loft), which were very comfortable. We enjoyed the grill, hot tub and woodburning stove regularly (there is also central HVAC, so don't worry if that's not your thing) and found the spacious and beautiful views of the mountains relaxing after each day of exploring Yosemite.

The Tree House location is really ideal, making it a easy to access both the park and to nearby Mariposa, where you can dine out ("1850 Restaurant" is recommended) or grab some groceries and use the kitchen, which is equipped with anything you'd need. The scenic drive from Tree House to the park is about 35 minutes, and very enjoyable (our first day we saw a bald eagle keeping watch on a tree over the Merced River). Along the way there are indeed some older motels that may put you 10-15 minutes closer, but ask yourself, is a few minutes per day saved worth staying in dingy accommodations? We think not. Staying at the Tree House felt like a continuation of our Yosemite day. We will be back on our next trip to the area.

Me and three friends came to stay in this beautiful treehouse for 3 nights and it just was not enough time, we loved our stay and we just did not want to leave!

The place is so speciuous with there only being 4 of us in total, even with a full house the place is so big. From breath taking views of the forest in the daylights to watching the stars at night time in the Jacuzzi, there treehouse really has it all.

There a full equipped kitchen/bathrooms/laundry room etc there really was nothing missing.

Although it was around 40 minutes drive into the national park we would recommend this. The drive into the park is beautiful and staying away from the busier centre of the park was ideal after a long days walk. You can retreat to your own hide away. I would defiantly recommend staying here from me and my 3 friends there were no faults.

The highlight of our 3 week trip around California!

Owner's Response: Grace Thank you for your business! Your kind words about the Tree House and your experience there brings me much gratitude. About 4 years ago my step Dad died and since then the profits from the Tree House have been keeping my Mom afloat as she has fallen on difficult times. So again, it brings me much happiness to know folks like you have cherished memories there and that you are helping me help my mother. Take good care!!
