The apartment itself was clean. That's the only positive.
Hidden fees: The listing says only: "Bed linen and towels are available for an extra fee." No amount is given. The host contacted me after my free cancellation deadline had passed to disclose the charge. I had no choice but to pay.
The linen fee? Let's just say it was in the high double digits — per person.
Do the math for three people. That is not a small "extra fee." That is a significant hidden charge.
Then: no beach towels. The property is advertised as being close to La Cinta beach. Paying that much for "towels" and receiving zero beach towels felt very unfair for a beach rental.
The little things that added up:
Coffee machine: It uses capsules, but none were provided. So a basic morning coffee meant going out to buy capsules first.
Lighting: Nearly every lamp in the apartment flickered constantly. It gave all three of us headaches within an hour. This made the space uncomfortable to be in.
Advice for future guests:
The host does not speak English. Have a translation app ready.
Ask about ALL fees – in writing – before your cancellation deadline. Do not assume anything is included or reasonable.
Bring your own beach towels and coffee capsules.
Bottom line: The apartment is fine. But between the hidden fees, missing beach towels, flickering lights, and a coffee machine you can't use, this rental was not a relaxing stay.
