Thinking of spending time in Montauk? Great idea! Enjoy all the East End has to offer from the comfort of a huge, newly renovated 6BR house in exclusive Hither Woods. Private beach parking pass and private tennis court are just a few of the perks...

The three-level house easily sleeps 12 comfortably. On the top floor, there is a huge master bedroom with ample closet space, sitting area and an en-suite bathroom, along with two more bedrooms that share a bathroom. The main floor features a second large master bedroom, and a convertible den that can either be used as another bedroom, or a space to enjoy quiet sun-soaked afternoons enjoying the view. The main floor also features a Great Room with a beautiful fireplace; a formal dining room that can seat 10-12 (plus a high-chair); a chef’s kitchen with everything you would need to enjoy a gourmet meal made at home; a breakfast nook in the kitchen, and a full bathroom. Just outside the kitchen is a large deck with outdoor shower, grill, outdoor table for eating food cooked on the aforementioned grill, and patio chairs to relax in. A huge washer and dryer is located in the basement (great to take care of the entire family’s towels after a day at the beach) and a large two-car garage.

Perks of renting our home include use of the private tennis court, and coveted private Hither Hills beach parking pass. What’s so special about the beach parking pass? Well, for non-residents, beach parking in Montauk can be a bit of a challenge, but with this parking pass, you can drive up to one of several parking lots along Old Montauk Highway, and head right down the stairs to your very own stretch of beach.

Great home away from home!

Shane & Kate were easy to work with and quickly answered questions even via text!

The house is about 15+ walk to the beach down many windy turns so having a car is highly recommended for this location. The plus is that the pool is beautiful and huge so we didn't even end up going to the beach.

We had a hard time finding the tennis courts, but the house was fully equipped with rackets and balls for ease of use.

Other than that, there were plenty of towels for showers, pool, for 10 people and washer/dryer was easy to use for extra loads. The grill worked great and the island kitchen is a fabulous place for crowds to hang around for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I didn't give it 5 stars just due to the fact that the master bedroom is x4 size of the other rooms so it's hard to delegate if you are with a group of friends.

We will definitely be returning when we have the chance!

Highly Recommend

This house was perfect for our large group. It comfortably fit 15 people including all "baby luggage" and the gear of 6 triathletes.

The house had everything we could have asked for and easily accommodated everyone's needs. There was plenty of cookware and flatware for all of our meals. There was ample room so that everyone had their own space to stretch out. The dining room table easily fit 10 people.

The house was located less than a mile from the beach (1 minute car ride) at tye end of an extremely quiet col de sac. There was also a very nice pool, although we didnt use it. All guests felt extremely comfortable and were really able to relax and enjoy the weekend despite the horrible weather.

The owners of the house were extremely easy to work with and contact. They promptly responded to any and all questions I had.

If this group is interested in participating in the Montauk Triathlon Weekend again we will certainly be contacting 5 The Glen again!

Great place for entertaining and privacy!

Dear Kate and Shane,

Your well-appointed home was perfect for our family gatherings over the days of my daughter's wedding at Navy Beach.

Our 11 family members and revolving guests were comfortable and impressed with the spacious, yet private facility. The pool was well used, and even in September, the sunshine of the day warmed the water to our liking...82 degrees.

The ample towels and sleeping options were appreciated and the available closet/ storage spaces and a second refrigerator were unexpectedly convenient. Your definitive and witty instruction booklet and responsive and accommodating caretaker answered any questions we had, so relaxation was abundant.

We were happy to leave our extra supplies, beverages, and canned goods for the next fortunate guest. Thank you so much!

Midwest family enjoys Montauk

We found the ideal home for the 6 adults, toddler and baby. Our "Montauk House" was clean, nicely organized and ready for each of us. Along with comfy beds & bathrooms, this home served up a crib, highchair, exersaucer and child sized table. It made our trip very easy.

Probably not the time of year to see Montauk at it's peak, but we enjoyed every minute. Our multi-generation family will recommend this spot anytime.

Great home for entertaining extended family

This home was very clean and comfortable, and the new heated pool was the center of our amazing two weeks there! The kitchen was well equipped, and having all of the linens included was super nice. There was enough room to have additional family units visit over the two weeks, with enough space to offer comfort and privacy. The beach pass was invaluable, and allowed the convenience of going back and forth to the beautiful, un-crowded beach as needed for our three generations, including one-year-old twins. The owners were attentive and gracious, and solved an internet problem within a half hour of our reporting it. My only recommendation to potential renters is to clarify the utility charges that will be deducted from the deposit, as we were not expecting to pay for monthly landscaping, garbage and cable. That said, we still felt the property was a great value for the money. We have no reservations recommending the property to other renters, and hope to return for another fantastic family vacation!

To clarify for future guests - we take utilities out of the security deposit pro-rated for the days you are there, this includes gas, electricity, garbage pick-up, cable, and pool maintenance during the summer season. The reason we don't do it upfront is because it varies guest to guest based on things like, if you order movies on cable and how much/ little you use the pool heater. We have recently installed a system where the gas company can tell us exactly how much propane was used during a particular time frame. We are happy to give estimates based on fixed costs and previous guest usage. E-mail us with any questions! Best, Shane
