We enjoyed every moment of the beauty of Williams Beach and Seaview Farm has to offer. Last nights sunset was outstanding. Breath taking. Beyond description! Our 5 grandkids had the time of their lives playing on the beach, building a fort, paddling in their rubber boat on the calm waters, roasting marshmallows every night, playing in the park and going on the farm tours (ages 2-10). We all loved the Yurt and will return!
Words cannot begin to explain how much my family and I enjoyed staying at this property! Our vacation began with a 10 day stay on Cortes Island and ended with 3 days in this amazing yurt......if I had it to do over again, I would have spent every last minute in the yurt!!! ;-) It was perfectly appointed, perfectly located and perfectly quiet. Don't plan on spending your days driving around...rather, sit still and enjoy the serenity of the location and the bonfires. We loved the yurt so much, we are already making plans to build our own in the very near future. We will be back!
This is a fantastic property in a wonderful location. The view of the ocean is one you could never grow tired of and is within steps of the yurt. We stayed for one week with two kids (aged 13 and 12 years) and our dog and enjoyed it immensely. The yurt is very well appointed with nearly everything you could ask for, the only thing we missed was a washing machine.
If you are bringing your dog everything is supplied (bowls, bed, chews and bags) which was a really nice touch.
There is a small campsite adjacent to the yurt which is not obvious from the photos, which held around 3-4 trailers which caused no issues for us, it was quiet and friendly.
A pointer for those for those who might miss it is that there is no tv, this caused no problem for us as we spent the evenings around the fire pit watching the ocean.
The beach by the yurt is a difficult walking beach due to the large pebbles which is not ideal for small children or those unsteady on their feet, however a short walk through the farm to the beach adjacent to Alders Resort brings you to a beach with plenty of sand which is ideal for kids to play on and paddle which we took advantage of every day.
If you have very young children you should be aware that the stairs to the loft bedroom (which is galleried) are quite steep and only suitable for older kids or adults.
The kitchen was very well equipped, a bbq is supplied with two bottles of propane which was used frequently, you can't beat bbqing with an ocean view.
The towns of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland and Campbell River are all a short drive away and very pleasant. We hired paddle boards in Cumberland for use on the lake and fishing with the kids on Campbell River pier was a great experience.
All in all we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this property.
We surprised our kids with a short getaway to the Courtenay area, the icing on the cake was our abode for the couple of nights. They couldn't believe we could really stay here, and did not want to leave. Had we chosen a hotel suite, our entire trip would have had such a different tone, but this was the best of all worlds, the nature vibe, but with all the comforts of home.
We will be back, maybe in the fall this time, to see the trees change color in this beautiful region.
Wonderful place, fully equipped..even games and puzzles. When we arrived there was not only a bed for the dog but also a treat, which was thoroughly enjoyed, also doggie pick up bags.
The staff were wonderful especially Megan! The site was fantastic a mile of shoreline.
My daughter hope to celebrate her birthday there again next year.
Oh did I mention the animals?...well I will leave that for you to look at on the website.
A few friends and I came up to celebrate a birthday, we were very pleased when we arrived, the yurt was big and beautiful better then it looked in the pictures! We made use of all the facilities, cooked a nice big dinner and relaxed around the fire. Even the dog felt very welcomed, would define recommend this rental and look forward to staying again some time!
We have friends in the area and wanted a place we could invite them over to for dinner. The yurt was perfect - super comfortable, fully equipped, and a great conversation piece. The location right on the beach is spectacular. Would definitely come back again.
