About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bath, fireplace, garage parking with room for bikes, kayaks, skis

One 1,237 square foot story town home is in a quiet, safe neighborhood just above the Old Mill. You can walk down to the river, shops, theater, and restaurants in 5-7 minutes on the Community Trail which starts less than a block from our home. Our home’s greatest asset is the location. It is super easy to get to the river, downtown, Mt. Bachelor, or Highway 97. Our Orientation Book will provide you with local information on where to buy groceries, rent bicycles, purchase forest passes and more.

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has an open floor plan that allows people in the kitchen, living and dining areas to stay connected while cooking, eating, watching movies, or playing games. Tall windows bring in lots of natural light. The gas fireplace adds a cozy feel. The large dining table seats six with ample space. Four can sit on the bar stools at the kitchen counter. There is a high chair for the wee ones.

The TV is a 43" LED LCD with 1080p, so it is good for gaming. We have a Blu-Ray DVD player and about 20 movies you can choose from. Wi-Fi is included if you want to stream. Board games and card games for all ages are in the yellow hutch. If you did not bring your own book to read, we have many books you can read while visiting. We have maps, brochures, and a local guidebook on hiking and other destinations in the area. We also have a good library of children's books, so you can save the room and weight in your luggage. We have a Pak n’ Play for your baby or toddler, too .

The kitchen is fully equipped to cook and bake with high-grade cookware and bakeware. Enjoy the wine and champagne glasses. There are matching plates and tumblers for dining on the patio if want to cook on the gas grill. Oils, spices, and coffee filters are provided.

The home can sleep four adults in beds. The fifth person could sleep on an good quality twin inflatable air mattress we can provide.

The master bedroom has a queen, Memory Foam bed and is located in the back of the house. Enjoy the full en suite bathroom with a large walk-in closet. If you need to do some work, there is room to set up your computer on the desk.

The second bedroom has two twin beds (in a trundle). The mattresses are firm. There is a chest of drawers, nightstand and some hooks for hanging items. This room does not have closet. There is a closet across from the bedroom in the hallway with more storage space. Or, you can hang items in the utility room (see photos). There is a full bathroom with tub and shower combo just across the hall.

You may park your car in the garage and we'll give you an electric garage door opener. There will still be room in the garage for your bikes, skis, kayak, etc… Please make use of the garage workbench to organize your gear. There are hooks in the garage to hang ski poles, jackets, or wet gear. If you need to rinse off anything, there is a bucket in the garage and you can use the hose in the backyard.

There are children's life jackets, inflatable inner tubes for the river, a foot pump, igloos, and portable lawn chairs for your fun. Feel free to take the chairs down to the summer concerts. Also, we provide you with towels for going to the river or the pool at Juniper Recreation Center.

There is so much to do in the area. Attend the Old Mill's events, like outdoor concerts, bicycle races, Balloons over Bend, and WinterFest. Downtown is only a mile away where you can catch a show at the Tower Theater and sample the atmospheric coffee shops, bookstores, and unique storefronts. The Pavilion with seasonal indoor ice skating, hockey and curling is 1.5 miles away. Grocery stores & the Outlet Mall are minutes away on 3rd street. Mt. Bachelor is 22 miles away.

We hope you find our home comfortable and restful in between your discoveries and adventures in Central Oregon.

Under 25 are welcome with restrictions.

We have a Short Term Rental Operating License by the City of Bend, so, we abide by the City of Bend's Good Neighbor Guidelines.

If you need transportation to/from the Redmond airport the Property Manager could pick you up at the airport and take you to the car rental agency in town, depending on your flight schedule. He will charge you $30 cash for each trip. Or, take UBER. It is cheaper to rent a car in-town from Enterprise, Budget, etc... than picking up a car at the Redmond airport. .

Exactly what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was seemless, from the check in, to the quality of the place, to the checkout. It was very clean and had a well supplied kitchen. If you like reading, they have a well stocked library. We had our two young kids with us so we didn’t get a chance but would have liked to! The garage was wonderful for parking too. We didn’t have to load two kids into car seats in the snow. We would definitely stay here again!!

Well stocked, family friendly stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great visit to Bend (this is our 4th). This property was perfect for our family. It is close to the Old Mill district and even to downtown if you don't mind some exercise. The kitchen, bathrooms, laundry area and garage had everything we needed to make it feel like home! Thank you for a great visit!

Mount Bachelor Ski & Summer Resort

My town home is in the housing area above the Old Mill District. So, you can walk down there in approx. 7 minutes via the Bluffs community trail for shopping, concerts, restaurants & movies. In the summer, there are free Sunday concerts in their amphitheater and free Wednesday concerts. Also, this is where the Balloons over Bend event is held. Bike races, triathlons, and the Pole, Pedal, Paddle race takes place down there, too. Great fun to watch! There are also sand volleyball courts and a practice fly-fishing course just there along the river. You can bike there in 1 minute, all downhill, and pedal along the river, that's nice for kids because it is flat. The put-in to float the river is less than 1 mile away, too. You'll find four inner tubes in my garage with a foot pump. You can rent stand-up paddle boards less than 1 mile away at Stand Up Paddle Bend. In the summer, the City offers a free shuttle to pick floaters up at Drake Park and take them back up to the start of the float trip at Farewell Bend Park. Mt. Bachelor is a 30 minute drive if roads are clear of snow. We prefer to take the Ski Shuttle, which picks up less than 2 miles from my home - you'll need to buy a ticket. We ride our mountain bikes out the door to get on the Deschutes River Trail (a singletrack actually starts to the left of the Bend Athletic Club and leads right into it) or onto the Phil's Trail system - which you can access from the north side of Century Drive (easy, 20 minute warm-up ride). We also ride our road bikes out the door, too, and head in all directions. A great hike is Tumalo Falls. A 5 minute hike gets you to a viewpoint, but if you keep going for several more miles you'll see other falls. It's about a 20 minute drive to get there. If you need to lift weights or swim, buy a day or week pass at the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center-a 7 min drive away. Many golf courses, some 5 minutes away, other farther. Frisbee golf, too. Smith Rock State Park for hiking and watching the rock-climbers - its famous around the world for that. Drive there in 35 minutes. You are 1/4 mile off 3rd street, the main thoroughfare, with grocery stores, sporting goods, lots of restaurants. In our living room, I've included maps and brochures about Central Oregon. You'll find a hiking guidebook describing trails that are good for kids. I also wrote a House Book with tips and directions to grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries, trails, etc... It's in a binder on the kitchen counter. For more info, visit the Central Oregon Visitor's Association.
