About James Morrison

I love to travel and this service seems like a great way to subsidize my passion for exploring new places. I'm a young professional who has slightly more house than he needs so I'm happy to help others stay in and explore my home town of San Diego.

James Morrison purchased this house in 2011

Why James Morrison chose Morena

I bought this property in 2011 when I could actually afford to buy something. I was living in Orange County but really missed my hometown of San Diego. I'm in real estate and so I knew that if I didn't seize the chance to buy then it would be a long time before I could afford a home like this again, so I bought. What I liked about the house was the large lot it was on and that the house was the perfect size for me. Additionally, I'm back to being within 5 minutes of my immediate and extended family who also live in Bay Park and Point Loma. I went to both high school and college in this area so I definitely consider it home. Since I've purchase the property I've made many upgrades to it including the following: new flooring, crown moulding, brand new bathrooms, and a new mantle piece. I hope you enjoy all the upgrades.

What makes this house unique

I would say the main benefit to this house is it's proximity to so many wonderful attractions San Diego has to provide. One could argue that it is located in the heart of San Diego.

Additionally, it's near the trolley line (5 minute walk) and the neighbors are super friendly.

What a GREAT place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We picked this house based on the reviews and information that indicated it was close to the trolley line. Since we were going to be attending ComicCon, the trolley access would be ideal for getting to and from the Convention Center. We were decidedly impressed by the condition of the house - great use of space, nice decor, clean towels and sheets, and AC in both bedrooms. Having off-street parking was a real bonus. Like everywhere in San Diego, the street parking was pretty crowded.

The house was about 0.5 miles or so from the trolley station, easy to walk to (once we found the shortcut through the Silver Terrace Grotto and down through the Silver Terrace Park!) and from the station, but far enough away that the crossing arm bells and whistles were faint echoes. There is a Starbucks nearby, and some food places, too. No easy access to a major grocery store, but Yelp showed a Ralph's a couple of miles away.

Bull's BBQ is close - recommended if you like BBQ.

This house would be great if you are doing Sea World, downtown San Diego, Old Town, or even if you have a car and are going to head up to LegoLand. Plenty of room for a family.

Jimmy was great - we HIGHLY recommend and loved our stay!

Owner's Response: It was an absolute pleasure hosting Trisa and her family. They were super friendly, courteous and clean. From my point a view the ideal guest and I hope they come back next year. Jimmy

TV was on point!

They have a roku set up with all the bells and whistles. ESPN, Netflix, amazon and HBO! The little things go a long way. The place was super clean and was in a good neighborhood. It's right by my store so I'll be staying here again.
