Quaint Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We felt at home the moment we stepped through the door. The cottage is well designed and decorated. Our group of 10 was a mix of adults and children. We had plenty of space with enough privacy for all. The kitchen was well stocked with needed utensils, pots/pans, and plates. If you don't feel like cooking there is a wonderful bar and grill just up the road (Pogo's). The location was perfect for our trip. We made several day trips to the Namekagon River to canoe/kayak. There is a lot to see and do in the area. Overall, a perfect get away!

Beautiful Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

The owner of this home knew that we would have fun and have nothing to worry about during our stay. He was correct! This vacation home was absolutely beautiful. Upon arrival, we were able to fit all five cars in the driveway. Entering the home, it was filled with tons of natural light. The home had a lovely open concept which was perfect for our group of friends. Everything we needed was provided. From plenty of plates, bowls, and utensils to pans and pots. There were paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies. The propane grill outside was great. We had a bonfire going both nights of our stay. There was a swimming area and pontoon rental within five miles of the home. I would definitely recommend this home to friends and family. I would definitely come back for another stay as well!

GREAT PLACE! BOOK NOW before the word is out about this new rental! It will fill fast!

We had a GREAT stay at this great cottage! It is beautifully decorated, well appointed, had great linens & lots of nice extras like a crock pot, blender, etc. and even the towels were included! What a nice touch! The only thing we didn't find was a larger cutting board but who cares, right?! I cannot think of a single other thing lacking on the inside. The exterior was very nice too and we loved the deck & firepit. (note: the top railing before you go down the stairs & along the stairs themselves were a little shaky.) We REALLY appreciated the fact there was wood to use at the pit, especially now with the issue of transporting it. The only concern we had was the active hornets nests that were on the railings & under the eves & deck, which seems very common in that area of WI. I think they were new because they were small. We did knock them down and burn them, but just a heads up. The only "disappointment" we had was the dock area but I think that was because the cabin is SO nice we just imagined the dock area would be similar. It might be helpful if there was a picture so people understand what they will be dealing with. It was quite overgrown on one side so really only room for one smaller boat & difficult to fish from, but did still manage to pull a few tiny sun fish from it. I think it goes without saying but it isn't swimmable either. I know there are rules about what you can do to shore lines but maybe if another section of dock was added, that could get you beyond the brush. Just thought it was worth mentioning so others expectations would be appropriate. We fished Cranberry Lake and didn't get much, but also fished the Minong Flowage which is connected and caught some decent crappies. It was a nice feature being able to fish them both. This place was also conveniently located on a main road with a restaurant and gas station/store w/i 1 mile. There is also a public beach about 4 miles away on the Minong Flowage & that had a great swim area and playground. Notable though, only those w/ ATT had good cell coverage, the others were very limited. Oh & one final thing, we absolutely love that currently they allow weekend rentals!! That is so wonderful because so many places require week long rentals and it is getting harder to find the opportunity to experience the beauty of the outdoors in that area, so, thank you for that! This being said, I would DEFINITELY recommend this place & we wish continued success to the Blackberry Briar Cottage!
