The Beach House is a newly built wooden cottage nestled within the palms of a large serene corner lot on the beautiful Forgotten Coast. Gorgeous Gulf of Mexico beach views and easy beach access are a dream come true. This coastal area is pet friendly and offers many enjoyable possibilities including peaceful strolls on the quiet white sandy beaches, swimming, sun bathing, picnicking, bird watching, boating, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, crabbing, scalloping and surfing. Bikes, golf carts, canoes, kayaks and horseback rides can be rented at nearby establishments if you are interested.
Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets are seen from most every room in the house and always from all four porches. Bottlenosed dolphins, bald eagles and ospreys are common sites here. Loggerhead sea turtles make their nests on our beaches from May through October. The lot across the street from the Beach House is a State Preserve where eagles are viewed almost daily.
The Beach House is a custom built two-story home with two bedrooms, two full baths, a large kitchen and family room, and a private breakfast room with spectacular views to enjoy your morning coffee. The house sleeps eight, with a queen size bed in each bedroom, a comfortable queen size futon, and a pull out queen size sofa bed in the living room. There are porches on both the front and back of the home. The back porch is screened and there are small open deck porches off of each bedroom which are excellent for greeting the morning sun, sun bathing, or watching the stars at night.
The Beach House contains a fully equipped kitchen, a utility room with washer and dryer, two big screen TVs with Dish network and movie channel, and a private breakfast room and family room with excellent beach views. The house has central heating and air conditioning and ceiling fans are installed in most rooms. Complementary wi-fi is available as well as a telephone for local calls. The large yard includes an outdoor grill and a cement breezeway under the house complete with chairs, wooden porch swing, and wooden picnic table for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.
This coastal area offers one of the last beautiful private and peaceful beaches in Florida, where you can collect a variety of sea shells, appreciate wildlife, and enjoy the peace and beauty of The Uncommon Florida.
Indian Pass Raw Bar a unique eating establishment less than a mile down the road where you can enjoy delicious Apalachicola Bay and Indian Lagoon oysters as well as shrimp, crab and other local seafood. The Raw Bar often has live outdoor entertainment and dancing on weekend nights. You will love their laid back style.
Nine miles to the west is the city of Port St. Joe where you can enjoy fine dining, great shopping, dancing and other entertainment. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park located on Cape San Blas is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches and you can rent canoes and kayaks or launch your own boat into the pristine waters of St. Joe Bay. Another interesting and educational place to visit is the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve which is located approximately 30 miles to the east. The nature center at the Reserve offers educational exhibits and aquaria featuring local fish, turtles and other wildlife.
If you enjoy shopping in small eclectic shops, you will want to visit the historic town of Apalachicola to the east and enjoy some delicious fresh local seafood while you're there.
If you're looking for a perfect and simple place to relax and enjoy the wonders of Florida's Forgotten Coast, the Beach House is the place!

Perfect beach house get away! Great location with a short walk to the water.
The house was clean and we were so happy it was dog friendly so we could bring our lab. The beach was sooooo great for our dog. He had a wonderful time playing with other dogs! We caught a bunch of fish and just relaxed in our peaceful surroundings. Curt was so accommodating and just let us be, to enjoy our vacation. We would go back in a heartbeat! We would recommend this property!
Extraordinarily charming house with beautiful ocean view
This home is beautiful inside and out. The house is full of interesting woodwork that is very charming and enjoyable. I love nontraditional homes and this house is a new take on Old Florida.
Everything is as described in the property description, but beyond that, the home is situated in a perfect spot. It is on a large, corner lot. The street is very quiet with hardly any traffic at all. The walk to the beach is about 100 steps on a path through a nature area.
You have unobstructed views of the ocean from the bedroom balcony. This is a wonderful place to drink coffee in the mornings. If you are lucky, you will see the bald eagle soaring by. That in itself is amazing.
This is one of those places that makes me wonder how I can have a home like this too. It is so comfortable and relaxing, providing everything that anyone needs to thoroughly enjoy the beautiful Forgotten Coast.
The perfect beach house
My husband and I rented Curt and Linda’s beach house for the month of February. Where to start? The place is larger and nicer than the photos depict-good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, balcony’s off both bedrooms for a great cross breeze. Shower pressure was good in both the baths and the outdoor shower was a real bonus, our dog especially loved that! The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. and spices, oil, lots of basics were there. We cooked in a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast nook is all windows and great for doing a jigsaw puzzle on a rainy day. Lots of books, puzzles and games for kids. Nice spacious front and back porches, the back porch has a big table that seats six, great for a family.on ground level there is a covered area, swing, picnic table, grill and a laundry room. The beach itself is very close, just steps, and pristine. No high rises in this area, only privately owned homes. Our dog loved the beach, met lots of pets and their owners. You can really tell this place was built with love.
We both highly recommend this property, Curt was available for any questions and we are glad he even stopped by to say hi.
If you are looking for a great getaway, with a beautiful , peaceful beach setting, this is the place. Thanks Curt and Linda, we LOVED it!!!
Perfect beach house on the perfect beach!!
This was our first trip to the Forgotten Coast, but not our last.
Where to begin? Curt was very responsive when we initially looked at his and Linda’s beach house. The place was better then the pictures and bigger, you could tell it was built with love, a place the Allen family will have for years.
The space was great, a sunny breakfast nook, where I spent a rainy day or two doing jigsaw puzzles. The kitchen was well equipped, basic spices, lots of utensils and pots and pans to cook with, which we took advantage of.The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of dressers and both had a balcony. It was nice with the cross breeze.
There were lots of paperback books, kids games, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, lots of extras in case you get a rainy day.
Also, a nice path to get to the beach, super close.
Seriously, We have used VRBO and the other sites for years, this place was well worth the money, it is so peaceful and the beach is pristine. Curt was easy to get a hold of and available for any questions. So, don’t look any further, book this place already!!!
Beautiful property and area. Nice owners, nice neighbors.
We loved this place. Perfect for our great Dane and us. The house is close to the beach and Indian pass raw bar. Perfect location. Oh, a bald eagle nests nearby so that is pretty cool.
Curtis is a very nice guy too. Called to check on us when we got in and to make sure we had everything.
It was such a great experience. I can't wait to come back!
The Beach House is perfect for long weekend getaway! Short walk to the beach and close to the Cape! We couldn’t have asked for a better location.
