Why Ralph White chose La Follette
Norris Point and Chapman Village Ln is the best location on the Lake!!! No steep steps. Has a very gentle slope to deep water. Community/Public boat launch less than 1 mile. Many beds. Peaceful location. The only noise you will hear is from the wildlife around you or from your children's laughter.
What makes this House unique
The house is at the mouth of a wide cove so boat traffic is limited. Kids are safe to swim and boats tied on the dock are not getting beaten up from constant large wakes. Springs dock is just around the corner. A great place to get ice cream and dock burgers. Lovely location; house set up is wonderful; kitchen superb; renovations well thought out/done
We loved having this house for a week with its close proximity to the lake (not too steep or long a hill) and the interior was charming. The views from the downstairs living areas were gorgeous; the kitchen/living/dining areas are nicely appointed. The upstairs bedrooms are good sized although the two located on the northern side are very dark (table lamps on both sides of the king-sized bed would help). The double porch (up and down) make for enjoyable outside living. If you are trailering a boat, DO NOT plan on bringing the trailer to the house; the turnaround areas are not adequate for this and the single lane long road to the house is just that - a single car road with very few pull over areas. This makes for a quiet retreat yet within 5 minutes or so of the closest marina. The boat ramp is a short distance from the house, but the back-up can be long (be prepared), and we were so fortunate in that a local, with a house just 1/4 mile away, let us put the trailer in his yard during our stay, otherwise, plan on finding a location for the trailer. We noted an open field just past the house, but it's probably not a public place to put the boat trailer (although it would be ideal it it were). This is a house we would gladly return to. The owners have put a great deal of thought into the renovations, especially downstairs. The boat dock accommodations for boat are good; carpeting on the dock helps keep feet from burning up. There's not a lot of boat traffic so it's a peaceful area if that's what you're looking for.
Suggestion to owners: It would be fabulous to have an outdoor shower since there are only 2 full bathrooms. The lake may be fresh water, but people still like to shower after being active during the day.
Beautiful new upgrades!
We had a wonderful time. The new kitchen and ground floor were a fabulous change to the house. The bunk room was great for the kids. Looking forward to returning next year.
The house feels like home. It is very clean and comfortable. The deck overlooking the water is a wonderful! The kids had a blast playing on the dock and swimming. Not a lot of boat traffic but the kids loved the "waves"'from the occasional boat.
